What it means

F01355 is generated when the device target topology (p0099) does not correspond to the device actual topology (r0098) — the drive expects a different arrangement of components than the one actually connected. The fault only occurs if the topology was commissioned using the automatic internal device mechanism and not using the commissioning software (commissioning tool).

The device's automatic function only accepts a constant topology. Topology changes that result in this fault being generated cannot be accepted by the automatic function in the device, but must be transferred using the commissioning software and parameter download. If the topology is changed anyway, all of the previous parameter settings are lost and replaced by the factory setting.

Why it appears

  • The device target topology (p0099) does not correspond to the device actual topology (r0098).

What to check

  1. Confirm that no faults have occurred in the topology detection itself — the counter-measures below apply only in that case.
  2. If commissioning is still not completed: carry out a self-commissioning routine starting from p0009 = 1. In general: set p0099 = r0098 and set p0009 = 0; for existing Motor Modules this results in servo drives being automatically generated (p0107).
  3. Alternatively, generate the drive objects explicitly with p0097 and then set p0009 = 0: p0097 = 1 generates servo drives, p0097 = 2 generates vector drives, p0097 = 12 generates vector drives with parallel circuit/connection.
  4. To set configurations in p0108, first set p0009 = 2 and modify p0108 — its index corresponds to the drive object (p0107) — before setting p0009 = 0.
  5. If commissioning has already been completed: either re-establish the original connections and re-connect power to the Control Unit, or restore the factory setting for the complete equipment (all of the drives) and allow automatic self-commissioning again, or change the device parameterization to match the connections — this last option is only possible using the commissioning software/tool.

Reading the message value

  • The drive writes the fault value into r0949; interpret it as a decimal number.
  • The manual gives no decoding of the value — it is used only for internal Siemens troubleshooting.
