C01799SI Motion P1 (CU): Acceptance test mode active

What it means

The Control Unit (CU) issues this safety message when the acceptance test mode of the Safety Integrated (SI) Motion functions is active. The drive does not trip or intervene while the message is present — it announces a state of the safety functions, and the manual states no remedy for it.

The List Manuals describe what the active mode means for the drive; in the notes to their entries the manual expands the abbreviations: SI stands for Safety Integrated, SLP for Safely-Limited Position and SE for Safe software limit switches.

Why it appears

The acceptance test mode is active. The List Manuals spell out what this means while the mode is running:

  • The setpoint velocity limiting is deactivated; the parameter named here, r9733, is the one that displays the effective SI Motion setpoint speed limit.
  • The standard limit switches are deactivated during the acceptance test for function SLP (SE) — for EPOS internal, otherwise via r10234.
  • When the safety functions are used with SINUMERIK, the POWER ON signals of the safety-relevant motion monitoring functions may be acknowledged during the acceptance test using the acknowledgment functions of the higher-level control.

For G120 the operating instructions state the cause in this abbreviated form only: the acceptance test mode is active.

Parameters the manual names

  • r9733 — displays the effective SI Motion setpoint speed limit (CO: SI Motion setpoint speed limit effective / SI Mtn set_lim). It is the parameter the cause names for this code, because the setpoint velocity limiting it reflects is deactivated while the acceptance test mode is running.

Acknowledging and restarting

The manual gives no remedy: the message is withdrawn as soon as the drive exits the acceptance test mode. Until then it simply remains, since it only reports the mode that is active.

What differs between the drive families

Questions technicians ask

What does C01799 mean on a SINAMICS drive?

It is the safety message "SI Motion P1 (CU): Acceptance test mode active": the Control Unit reports that the acceptance test mode of the Safety Integrated (SI) Motion functions is currently active.

How do I clear or reset C01799?

No remedy is necessary. The message is withdrawn automatically as soon as the drive exits the acceptance test mode.

Why is the speed limiting inactive while C01799 is displayed?

That is part of what the acceptance test mode means: the setpoint velocity limiting is deactivated. r9733 is the parameter that displays the effective SI Motion setpoint speed limit.

Are the standard limit switches deactivated during the acceptance test?

The List Manuals state that for function SLP (SE) the standard limit switches are deactivated during the acceptance test — for EPOS internal, otherwise via r10234. The G120 operating instructions do not go into this detail.
