A32407 — Encoder 2: Function limit reached

A32407 ("Encoder 2: Function limit reached") is issued when Encoder 2 has reached one of its function limits. The manual's advice at this point is unambiguous: a service is recommended. Which of the encoder's function limits has been reached is reported as an alarm value in r2124. Depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be issued as a fault (F) or with no reaction (N) instead of this alarm.

1. Read the alarm value in r2124 (interpret decimal) to identify which function limit has been reached: 1 = incremental signals, 3 = absolute track, 4 = code connection.
2. Select the encoder in p4650 and read its actual functional reserve in r4651 to see how much reserve the encoder still has.
3. Perform service.
4. Replace the encoder if necessary.

As an alarm, the message requires no acknowledgement and the drive does not execute a protective reaction. If the drive is configured to output the same condition as a fault instead, that fault must be acknowledged IMMEDIATELY.
