A30666SI Motion P2: Steady-state (static) 1 signal at the F-DI for safe acknowledgment

What it means

A30666 is an SI Motion P2 alarm that concerns the failsafe digital input (F-DI) configured in p10106 for safe acknowledgment. The drive raises it when a logical 1 signal has been present at this F-DI for more than 10 seconds while no safe acknowledgment was performed at that input. In this state a steady-state logical 0 signal must be present at the F-DI, and the alarm reports that the expected level is not there. The steady logical 0 is deliberately demanded so that no unintentional safety-relevant acknowledgment (or the "Internal Event Acknowledge" signal) can occur, for example if a wire breaks or one of the two digital inputs bounces. Depending on the drive's configuration, the same condition can also be signalled as a fault.

Why it appears

  • The F-DI configured in p10106 has carried a logical 1 signal for more than 10 seconds.
  • Because no safe acknowledgment was performed at this F-DI, a steady-state logical 0 signal must be present there; the drive monitors exactly this expected level and reports that it is violated.
  • The required steady logical 0 exists to prevent an unintentional safety-relevant acknowledgment (or the "Internal Event Acknowledge" signal), for instance if a wire breaks or one of the two digital inputs bounces.

What to check

  1. Set the failsafe digital input (F-DI) configured in p10106 to a logical 0 signal.
  2. Keep the signal steady-state: as long as no safe acknowledgment is performed at the F-DI, the input must remain at logical 0, since the alarm responds to a logical 1 that persists for more than 10 seconds.

Parameters the manual names

  • p10106 — "SI Motion acknowledgment internal event F-DI (processor 2)" / "SI ackn int evt P2": the parameter in which the monitored F-DI is configured; the remedy for A30666 is to bring the input selected here back to a logical 0 signal.

Acknowledging and restarting

The drive takes no automatic action on this alarm and no acknowledgement is required; returning the F-DI configured in p10106 to a steady logical 0 is the complete remedy the manual gives. The manual's note adds that when the same condition is signalled as a fault, it must be acknowledged immediately.

Questions technicians ask

What does alarm A30666 on a SINAMICS drive mean?

The failsafe digital input (F-DI) configured in p10106 has been at logical 1 for more than 10 seconds, although no safe acknowledgment was performed at that input and a steady-state logical 0 must be present there.

How do I clear A30666?

Set the F-DI configured in p10106 to a logical 0 signal. The alarm requires no acknowledgement of its own; if the same condition is signalled as a fault, it must be acknowledged immediately.

Why must the F-DI for safe acknowledgment sit at logical 0?

So that no unintentional safety-relevant acknowledgment (or the "Internal Event Acknowledge" signal) can occur, for example if a wire breaks or one of the two digital inputs bounces.

Which parameter belongs to A30666?

p10106 — the SI Motion acknowledgment internal event F-DI for processor 2 (SI ackn int evt P2). It configures the F-DI whose signal level the alarm reports on.
