A30640 — SI P2: Fault in the switch-off signal path of the second channel

A30640 is an alarm from Safety Integrated (SI): a fault in the switch-off signal path of the second channel (SI P2). Behind it is a communication error while safety-relevant information is being transferred — between the Motor Module (MM) and the higher-level control or a TM54F, or between Motor Modules connected in parallel. On the Hydraulic Module (HLA), the manual names the communication error with the higher-level control or the TM54F as the cause. The manuals note: This fault results in a STOP A that can be acknowledged. Depending on the drive's configuration, the same condition can also be issued as a fault instead of an alarm.

• The Motor Module has detected a communication error with the higher-level control or with the TM54F while transferring safety-relevant information.
• There is a communication error between Motor Modules connected in parallel.
• On the Hydraulic Module (HLA): the Hydraulic Module has detected a communication error with the higher-level control or with the TM54F for the transfer of safety-relevant information.

1. If the safety-relevant information is exchanged with a higher-level control: check the PROFIsafe address in the higher-level control and in the Motor Modules (on the Hydraulic Module: in the higher-level control and the Hydraulic Module) and align it if required. Then save all parameters (p0977 = 1) and carry out a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on) for all components.
2. If a TM54F is involved: start the copy function for the node identifier (p9700 = 1D hex), acknowledge the hardware CRC (p9701 = EC hex), save all parameters (p0977 = 1) and carry out a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on) for all components.
3. For a parallel connection: check the PROFIsafe address in both monitoring channels and align it if required, then save all parameters (p0977 = 1) and carry out a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on) for all components.
4. Generally: upgrade the Motor Module software — on the Hydraulic Module, upgrade the Hydraulic Module software.

• The drive enters an alarm value for this message; the manual prints the message value only as a placeholder and refers to the alarm value (r2124, interpret decimal).
• Per the note on this message, the alarm value is only for internal Siemens troubleshooting — no bit assignment or other decoding is given for the user.

• p9810 — SI PROFIsafe address (Motor Module): compare the address set here with the PROFIsafe address in the higher-level control and align the two if they differ.
• p0977 — save all parameters: set to 1 to save all parameters after aligning an address or acknowledging the CRC.
• p9700 — SI Motion copy function: set to 1D hex to start the copy function for the node identifier when the TM54F is involved.
• p9701 — acknowledge SI motion data change: set to EC hex to acknowledge the hardware CRC.
• r2124 — alarm value: holds the alarm value of this message, interpreted as a decimal number; per the manual it is only for internal Siemens troubleshooting.

As an alarm, A30640 does not itself require an acknowledgement; the Safety Integrated STOP A connected with it can be acknowledged. After remedying the cause, save all parameters (p0977 = 1) and carry out a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on) for all components. If the drive is configured to raise the same condition as a fault, the specified reaction upon F is NONE (OFF2) and acknowledgement is IMMEDIATELY (POWER ON).
