A30810Power unit: Watchdog timer

What it means

A30810 (Power unit: Watchdog timer) is an alarm that the drive raises when booting and establishes that the previous reset was caused by an overflow of the SAC watchdog timer. It therefore reports the reason for a reset that has already taken place. The manuals list no message value for it. Depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be issued as a fault (F).

Why it appears

  • When booting, the drive detected that the cause of the previous reset was an overflow of the SAC watchdog timer.

What to check

  1. Carry out a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on) for all components.
  2. If the alarm reappears, upgrade the firmware to a later version.
  3. If it still appears, contact Technical Support.

Acknowledging and restarting

As an alarm, A30810 needs no acknowledgement; the POWER ON described in the checks is what clears the condition it reports. If the drive's configuration makes the same condition appear as a fault (F) instead, the manual prints Reaction upon F: NONE (OFF2) with acknowledgement IMMEDIATELY — the fault can be acknowledged as soon as its cause has been remedied, and the drive can then be restarted.
