What it means

A08511 is issued by the PROFINET interface — titled PN/COMM BOARD: Receive configuration data invalid on S120, S150, G130 and G150, and PROFINET: Receive configuration data invalid on G120 and G120XA — because the drive unit did not accept the receive configuration data, i.e. the cyclic telegram configuration with which the controller addresses the drive. The message value is a placeholder; the concrete result of the configuration check stands in r2124 and is interpreted as a decimal number. Depending on the drive's configuration, the same condition can also be output as a fault. On G115D and G120C the manual prints the code only in a short table, without the detailed value breakdown given for the other families.

Why it appears

  • The receive configuration data sent by the controller does not fit the drive: the wrong drive objects or sequence for process data exchange (p0978), more PZD data words for output or input than a drive object — or the overall device — provides, or an uneven number of bytes for input or output.
  • Cyclic operation is not active, or the setting data for synchronization was not accepted.
  • On a CBE20 Shared Device, the configuration of the F-CPU has been changed.
  • Clock synchronization or PROFIsafe is set up incorrectly for a PZD interface (p8815[0], p8815[1], p8839), a PROFIsafe parameter such as F_dest is wrong, or the PROFIsafe connection is rejected while no isochronous connection exists.

What to check

  1. Read the alarm value in r2124 (interpret it as a decimal number); it names exactly which configuration check failed.
  2. Value 1 or 2: check the list of drive objects with process data exchange (p0978). Note that with p0978[x] = 0, that entry and every drive object after it in the list drop out of the process data exchange.
  3. Value 2: compare the number of PZD data words for output and input per drive object with the indices available in r2050/p2051 (PZD IF1) and r8850/p8851 (PZD IF2). Value 257 (S120, S150): do the same check for the complete device.
  4. Value 3: check that input and output each carry an even number of bytes, so the telegrams on the controller side match the drive.
  5. Value 4: the setting data for synchronization was not accepted — the manual refers here to A01902 for more information.
  6. Value 17: unplug and plug the A-CPU again (CBE20 Shared Device after a change of the F-CPU configuration).
  7. Values 223 and 500: check the setting in p8839 and p8815, and ensure that only one PZD interface is operated in clock synchronism or with PROFIsafe.
  8. Value 501: check the PROFIsafe address set in p9610. Value 502 (G120): check the enable of F-DI (p9501.30).
  9. Value 503: the PROFIsafe connection stays rejected until an isochronous connection exists (p8969).

Reading the message value

r2124 holds the return value of the receive configuration data check:

  • 1 — the connection was set up to more drive objects than the device is configured for; the objects exchanging process data, and their sequence, are defined in p0978.
  • 2 — the telegram carries more PZD data words for output or input than the drive object accepts; the possible count follows from the indices of r2050/p2051 (PZD IF1) and r8850/p8851 (PZD IF2).
  • 3 — uneven number of bytes for input or output.
  • 4 — setting data for synchronization not accepted (details under A01902).
  • 5 — cyclic operation not active.
  • 17 — CBE20 Shared Device: the configuration of the F-CPU has been changed.
  • 223 — the clock synchronization of the PZD interface set in p8815[0] is not permissible.
  • 257 (S120, S150) — PN Shared Device: more PZD data words for output or input than the overall device accepts.
  • 500 — the PROFIsafe configuration of the interface set in p8815[1] is not permissible.
  • 501 — a PROFIsafe parameter is wrong, for example F_dest.
  • 502 (G120) — the PROFIsafe telegram does not match.
  • 503 — the PROFIsafe connection stays rejected until an isochronous connection exists (p8969).

Acknowledging and restarting

As an alarm, the message clears itself once the corrected receive configuration data has been transferred and the cyclic connection matches the drive again. If the drive is configured so that the same condition is output as a fault, the affected drive objects are switched off, and that fault must be acknowledged immediately before the converter can be restarted.
