The preprocessing can only work if an encoder is assigned to it and that encoder points to an encoder data set (EDS) that actually contains encoder data. If one of these links is missing or empty, the drive signals this alarm.
Why it appears
- No encoder is assigned to the position actual value preprocessing (p2502 = 0).
- An encoder is assigned, but no encoder data set: p0187 = 99 or p0188 = 99 or p0189 = 99.
- An encoder and an encoder data set are assigned, but the encoder data set contains no encoder data (p0400 = 0) or invalid data — the manual names p0408 = 0 as an example.
What to check
- Check the drive data sets and the encoder assignment of the position actual value preprocessing: p2502 = 0 means that no encoder is assigned.
- Check the encoder data set numbers p0187 (encoder 1), p0188 (encoder 2) and p0189 (encoder 3); the value 99 means that the encoder in question has no encoder data set assigned.
