What it means
A02099 tells you that the memory still free on the Control Unit is no longer enough to run the trace as it is configured. All the manuals that describe this alarm give the same cause and the same remedy, so the guidance below holds for the G120, G130, G150, S120 and S150 alike.
Why it appears
- The trace function needs more memory than the Control Unit still has free, so the trace as set up can no longer be carried out.
What to check
- Read r4708 and r4799: r4708 shows the trace memory space required by the current settings, r4799 the trace memory location still free — together they show by how much the configured trace overshoots the space that is left.
- Configure a shorter trace time.
- Set a larger trace clock cycle.
- Trace fewer signals.
- Re-check r4708 against r4799 after each change until the required memory fits into the free memory.
Parameters the manual names
- r4708 — trace memory space required: shows how much memory the configured trace needs; trim the trace settings until this value fits under the free memory.
- r4799 — trace memory location free: shows the memory that is still available to the trace, the value r4708 has to come under.
Acknowledging and restarting
No acknowledgement is needed for this alarm. Once the trace has been trimmed so that the required memory (r4708) fits into the memory still free (r4799), the alarm goes away on its own.
