What it means
F07826 ("Drive: DC link voltage for simulation operation too high") is raised when simulation mode is switched on while the DC link voltage is greater than the permissible value of 40 V. The manuals for the G130, G150, S120 and S150 describe the condition identically, so the explanation below applies to all of these converters. While the fault is active the drive coasts the motor and will not restart until the fault has been acknowledged.
Why it appears
- Simulation mode is activated and the DC link voltage is greater than the permissible value of 40 V.
What to check
- Switch out (disable) simulation mode by setting p1272 = 0, then acknowledge the fault.
- If simulation mode has to stay active, reduce the input voltage so that the DC link voltage lies below 40 V.
Parameters the manual names
- p1272 — simulation mode. Set it to 0 to switch simulation mode out and clear the fault condition.
Acknowledging and restarting
The fault is acknowledged immediately once the cause is removed: either simulation mode has been switched out with p1272 = 0, or the input voltage has been reduced until the DC link voltage is below 40 V. Because the drive coasts the motor on this fault (OFF2), it only returns to operation after this acknowledgement.
The same on every family
Every manual that describes F07826 gives it the same reaction, acknowledgement and message class.
| Drive family | Reaction | Acknowledge | Message class | Component | Manual |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| G130, G150 | OFF2 | IMMEDIATELY | Application/technological function faulted (17) | None | SINAMICS G130, G150 List Manual · p. 1600 |
| S120, S150 | OFF2 | IMMEDIATELY | Application/technological function faulted (17) | None | SINAMICS S120, S150 List Manual · p. 2869 |

Questions technicians ask
What does fault F07826 mean on a SINAMICS drive?
Simulation mode is activated while the DC link voltage is greater than the permissible value of 40 V. The drive trips, coasts the motor and waits for the fault to be acknowledged.
How do I clear fault F07826?
Set p1272 = 0 to switch out simulation mode and then acknowledge the fault, or reduce the input voltage until the DC link voltage is below 40 V.
Can simulation mode stay active with F07826 present?
Only if the DC link voltage is brought below 40 V, for example by reducing the input voltage. Otherwise switch simulation mode out with p1272 = 0 and acknowledge the fault.
