F07423Drive: APC filter natural frequency > Shannon frequency

What it means

F07423 is raised when one of the APC filter natural frequencies is greater than the Shannon frequency. The drive calculates the Shannon frequency from the sampling time for supplementary functions p0115[1] and the sub-sampling factor x of the filter group concerned: 0.5 / (p0115[1] * x), where x = 1 for filter 1.1, x = p3706 for the filters 2.x and x = p3707 for the filters 3.x. The fault value in r0949, interpreted in binary, shows which filter is involved and the number of the data set concerned.

Why it appears

  • One of the configured APC filter natural frequencies is greater than the Shannon frequency 0.5 / (p0115[1] * x).

What to check

  1. Read the fault value r0949 in binary: a set bit marks the filter involved (bit 0 = filter 1.1, bit 4 = filter 2.1, bit 5 = filter 2.2, bit 8 = filter 3.1, bit 9 = filter 3.2); bits 16 ... 32 contain the data set number, starting from zero.
  2. Reduce the numerator or denominator natural frequency of the filter involved so that it lies below the Shannon frequency.
  3. Alternatively reduce the speed controller sampling time (p0115[1]) or the sub-sampling (p3706, p3707); because both enter the formula 0.5 / (p0115[1] * x), this raises the Shannon frequency.
  4. Or switch out the filter involved (p3704).

Reading the message value

  • The drive enters the fault value in r0949; interpret it in binary.
  • Bit 0: Filter 1.1 (p3711, p3713), x = 1
  • Bit 4: Filter 2.1 (p3721, p3723), x = p3706
  • Bit 5: Filter 2.2 (p3726, p3728), x = p3706
  • Bit 8: Filter 3.1 (p3731, p3733), x = p3707
  • Bit 9: Filter 3.2 (p3736, p3738), x = p3707
  • Bit 16 ... 32: Data set number (starting from zero)

Parameters the manual names

  • p0115[1] — sampling time for supplementary functions; it stands in the denominator of the Shannon frequency, so reducing it raises 0.5 / (p0115[1] * x).
  • r0949 — fault value; read it in binary to identify the affected filter and the data set number.
  • p3711 — APC filter 1.1 denominator natural frequency; reduce it when bit 0 is set.
  • p3713 — APC filter 1.1 numerator natural frequency; reduce it when bit 0 is set.
  • p3706 — APC sub-sampling filter 2.x; the factor x for the filters 2.x in the Shannon formula.
  • p3721 — APC filter 2.1 denominator natural frequency; reduce it when bit 4 is set.
  • p3723 — APC filter 2.1 numerator natural frequency; reduce it when bit 4 is set.
  • p3726 — APC filter 2.2 denominator natural frequency; reduce it when bit 5 is set.
  • p3728 — APC filter 2.2 numerator natural frequency; reduce it when bit 5 is set.
  • p3707 — APC sub-sampling filter 3.x; the factor x for the filters 3.x in the Shannon formula.
  • p3731 — APC filter 3.1 denominator natural frequency; reduce it when bit 8 is set.
  • p3733 — APC filter 3.1 numerator natural frequency; reduce it when bit 8 is set.
  • p3736 — APC filter 3.2 denominator natural frequency; reduce it when bit 9 is set.
  • p3738 — APC filter 3.2 numerator natural frequency; reduce it when bit 9 is set.
  • p3704 — APC filter activation; use it to switch out the filter involved.

Acknowledging and restarting

The fault can be acknowledged immediately with POWER ON, i.e. by switching the drive power supply off and on again. No automatic stop reaction is executed (OFF1, OFF2 and OFF3 remain selectable). Because the cause lies in the parameterization, correct the filter settings as described above before re-acknowledging — otherwise the drive raises F07423 again.

Questions technicians ask

What does SINAMICS fault F07423 mean?

One of the APC filter natural frequencies is greater than the Shannon frequency 0.5 / (p0115[1] * x). The set bits in r0949 show which filter (1.1, 2.1, 2.2, 3.1 or 3.2) is involved.

How do I clear fault F07423?

Reduce the numerator or denominator natural frequency of the affected filter, reduce the sampling time p0115[1] or the sub-sampling p3706 / p3707, or switch the filter out with p3704. Then acknowledge the fault with POWER ON.

Where can I see which APC filter triggered F07423?

Interpret the fault value r0949 in binary: bit 0 marks filter 1.1, bit 4 filter 2.1, bit 5 filter 2.2, bit 8 filter 3.1 and bit 9 filter 3.2. Bits 16 ... 32 give the data set number, starting from zero.

Why does F07423 come back after acknowledgement?

The cause is a parameterization error: as long as a filter natural frequency still exceeds the Shannon frequency, the drive raises the fault again after every POWER ON. Correct the settings before re-acknowledging.
