What it means

F03505 means that the wire-break monitoring for an analog input has responded: the value at a monitored analog input has crossed the response threshold configured for it. The manual prints the message under several titles — Analog input wire breakage, CU: Analog input wire breakage, TB: Analog input wire breakage and TM: Analog input wire breakage — because the monitoring exists on the CU, on TB30 and on Terminal Modules (TM15, TM17, TM31, TM41, TM120, TM150), with different terminals and thresholds for each. The monitoring is active only for particular input types: p4056[x] = 3 (unipolar current input monitored (+4 ... +20 mA)) on the Terminal Modules, p0756[0] = 3 (4 ... 20 mA with monitoring) on the CU, and p0756[0...1] = 1 (2 ... 10 V with monitoring) on G120, where the entries refer to analog input 0 and analog input 1 (only CU240D-2). Depending on the drive's configuration, the same condition can also be signalled as an alarm (A) or with no reaction (N) instead of a fault.

Why it appears

  • The wire-break monitoring for an analog input has responded — the cause the manual prints for every drive object, including the SERVO, VECTOR and ENC objects and TB30.
  • Terminal Module entries: the input value of the analog input has exceeded the threshold value parameterized in p4061[x]; index x = 0 is analog input 0 (X521.1/X521.2) and index x = 1 is analog input 1 (X521.3/X521.4), while TM41 uses X522.1 to .3 (AI 0) and X522.4 to .5 (AI 1).
  • CU entries: the input value has exceeded the threshold value parameterized in p0761[0] for analog input 0 (X131.7/X131.8).
  • G120: the input value of the analog input has undershot the threshold value parameterized in p0761[0...3].
  • It is possible that the infed signal is too low.

What to check

  1. Check the wiring for interruptions — on the CU entries, the wiring to the signal source.
  2. Check the magnitude of the injected current; it is possible that the infed signal is too low. Read what actually arrives: r4052[x] shows the input current measured by the Terminal Module, r0752[0] the value measured by the CU, r0752[x] on G120 and r0752 on G115D and G120C. For the monitored current input type, a current below 4 mA is not displayed — the drive outputs 4 mA instead.
  3. Check the load resistor (250 Ohm) — printed for the Terminal Module and CU entries. For G115D and G120C the manual condenses the remedy to: check the level of the signal supplied.

Reading the message value

  • The message value is the fault value; the drive stores it in r0949, interpret decimal, in the form yxxx dec.
  • y = analog input (0 = analog input 0 (AI 0), 1 = analog input 1 (AI 1)).
  • xxx = component number (p0151).
  • This decoding is printed for the Terminal Module entries and for G120; for the CU entries the manual names r0949 without decoding the digits.

Parameters the manual names

  • r0949 — fault value; read it here (interpret decimal) to see which analog input reported the wire break.
  • p0151 — component number; it forms the xxx part of the fault value.
  • p0761 — CU analog input wire breakage monitoring response threshold; its crossing (p0761[0] on the CU, p0761[0...3] on G120) triggers the fault.
  • p0756 — CU analog input type; monitoring is active only for p0756[0] = 3 (4 ... 20 mA with monitoring) and, on G120, p0756[0...1] = 1 (2 ... 10 V with monitoring).
  • r0752 — measured input value of the CU analog input; use it to check the level of the injected signal.
  • p4061 — Terminal Module analog input wire breakage monitoring response threshold; its crossing triggers the fault on the TM analog inputs.
  • p4056 — Terminal Module analog input type; monitoring is active only for p4056[x] = 3 (unipolar current input monitored (+4 ... +20 mA)).
  • r4052 — input current measured by the Terminal Module; a current below 4 mA is output as 4 mA.

Acknowledging and restarting

F03505 is acknowledged immediately (POWER ON): once the wire-break condition has been removed the fault can be acknowledged right away, and switching the power off and on also acknowledges it. Where the drive signals the same condition as an alarm (A) or with no reaction (N), the manual specifies no acknowledgment (NONE) for these variants.
