C01708 — SI Motion P1 (CU): STOP C initiated

C01708 — “SI Motion P1 (CU): STOP C initiated” — is a Safety Integrated (SI) message of the motion monitoring in the Control Unit (CU). It reports that the drive is being stopped with a STOP C: braking runs along the OFF3 deceleration ramp, and once the parameterized time has expired the drive changes into “Safe Operating Stop” (SOS). How long this braking phase lasts is set in p9552, the transition time from STOP C to SOS. The G130, G150, S120 and S150 manuals describe this message identically, so the information below applies to all of these families.

• The higher-level control has issued a stop request.
• The message is a subsequent response to C01714 “SI Motion CU: Safely Limited Speed exceeded”.
• The message is a subsequent response to C01715 “SI Motion CU: Safely Limited Position exceeded”.
• The message is a subsequent response to C01716 “SI Motion CU: tolerance for safe motion direction exceeded”.

1. Remove the cause of the fault at the control — deal with whatever made the higher-level control issue the stop request.
2. If C01708 followed C01714, C01715 or C01716, carry out a diagnostics routine for that message and clear it first.
3. Once the cause has been removed, acknowledge the message (the safe acknowledgment options are listed under acknowledgment and restart below).

• The manual prints no message value for this message, so there is no fault value to decode on the operator panel.

• p9552 — SI Motion transition time STOP C to SOS (SBH, Control Unit): the parameterized time after which the drive enters Safe Operating Stop (SOS) once STOP C has been initiated.

The drive expects an immediate acknowledgment, which by default is performed with a POWER ON. The manual also allows a safe acknowledgment without a POWER ON, using one of the following: the Terminal Module 54F (TM54F), the onboard F-DI (only on the CU310-2), PROFIsafe, or the machine control panel. Remove the cause at the control first, then acknowledge.
