A35213TM: Temperature alarm threshold channel 2 exceeded

What it means

A35213 is reported by a Terminal Module (TM) when the temperature measured through its temperature sensing on channel 2 — the value in r4105[2] — has risen above the alarm threshold stored in p4102[4]. The drive does not react to this alarm; it only signals that the threshold was crossed. Depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be output as a fault (F) or as a message with no reaction (N).

For the sensor types "PTC thermistor" and "Bimetallic NC contact" (p4100[2] = 1, 4), the following applies: if r4101[2] is greater than 1650 ohms, then r4105[2] = 250 °C; if r4101[2] is 1650 ohms or less, then r4105[2] = -50 °C.

Why it appears

  • The temperature that the Terminal Module (TM) picks up through its temperature sensing, shown in r4105[2], has risen above the threshold in p4102[4] at which this alarm is initiated.

What to check

  1. Read the temperature the Terminal Module is currently measuring on channel 2 in r4105[2].
  2. Allow the temperature sensor to cool down until the temperature is below p4102[4] minus the hysteresis — 5 K; on a TM150 the hysteresis can be set using p4118[2].

Reading the message value

  • Alarm value in r2124, interpreted as a decimal number: the temperature actual value at the time the alarm was initiated, given in 0.1 °C.

Parameters the manual names

  • r4105 — temperature actual value of the Terminal Module's channel-2 temperature sensing; read it to see the temperature currently being measured.
  • p4102 — alarm threshold of channel 2; the alarm initiates when the measured temperature exceeds it, and the sensor must cool below this threshold minus the hysteresis.
  • p4100 — sensor type of channel 2; the special 250 °C / -50 °C readings apply when it is set to 1 ("PTC thermistor") or 4 ("Bimetallic NC contact").
  • r4101 — sensor resistance of the TM120; with a "PTC thermistor" or "Bimetallic NC contact", more than 1650 ohms gives 250 °C and 1650 ohms or less gives -50 °C.

  • p4118 — hysteresis of the fault/alarm threshold on the TM150; use it to set the hysteresis instead of the fixed 5 K.

Acknowledging and restarting

The alarm requires no acknowledgement. Let the temperature sensor cool down until the temperature is below p4102[4] minus the hysteresis (5 K; on a TM150 the hysteresis can be set using p4118[2]). If the drive is configured to output the condition as a fault (F) instead, it is acknowledged IMMEDIATELY (POWER ON).
