What it means

A33999 “Encoder 3: Unknown alarm” is raised when the Sensor Module that supplies encoder 3 reports an alarm which the firmware of the Control Unit cannot interpret. According to the manual this happens in particular when the firmware on the Sensor Module is more recent than the firmware on the Control Unit, so the component reports an alarm number the Control Unit does not yet know. The component concerned is Sensor Module Encoder 3. Depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be issued as a fault (F) or as a message with no reaction (N).
