What it means
A33443 is raised when the unipolar signal level on track C/D of Encoder 3 leaves the permissible tolerance — either on CP/CN or on DP/DN. The unipolar nominal signal level of the encoder must lie in the range 2500 mV +/- 500 mV; the drive responds once the level falls below 1700 mV or rises above 3300 mV. The level is only evaluated when the Sensor Module properties are available (r0459.31 = 1) and monitoring is active (p0437.31 = 1). Depending on the drive configuration, the same condition can also be issued as fault F33443 or as a message without reaction (N33443).
Why it appears
- The unipolar level (CP/CN or DP/DN) for Encoder 3 is outside the permissible tolerance: the nominal level must lie in the range 2500 mV +/- 500 mV, and the drive responds below 1700 mV or above 3300 mV.
What to check
- Check that the encoder cables and shielding are routed in compliance with EMC.
- Check the plug connections and contacts of the encoder cable.
- Check whether the C/D tracks are connected correctly — have the signal cables CP and CN or DP and DN been interchanged?
- Replace the encoder cable.

- The drive writes the alarm value to r2124; interpret it in binary.
- Bit 0 = 1: either CP or CN is outside the tolerance.
- Bit 16 = 1: either DP or DN is outside the tolerance.

As an alarm, A33443 requires no acknowledgement. If the drive is configured to issue the same condition as fault F33443, the drive still takes no automatic reaction, but the fault must be acknowledged IMMEDIATELY.
