A07943Sync-line-drive: Synchronization not permitted

What it means

A07943 comes from the sync-line-drive function, which brings this drive into synchronization with a leading line drive. Before the drive may synchronize, several preconditions must be fulfilled. If one of them is not met, the drive raises this alarm and stores the blocking condition as a numeric alarm value in r2124. The alarm does not trip the drive; it remains present until the missing condition is fulfilled.

Why it appears

Synchronization is not permitted because at least one of its conditions is currently not satisfied. Which condition it is can be seen from the alarm value described below.

What to check

  1. Read the alarm value in r2124 as a decimal number; it tells you which condition blocks the synchronization.
  2. Alarm value 1300: set the control mode p1300 to 20 (encoderless closed-loop speed control) or to a value between 0 and 19 (U/f characteristic).
  3. Alarm value 1910: finish and exit the motor data identification (p1910).
  4. Alarm value 1960: finish and exit the speed controller optimization (p1960).
  5. Alarm value 1990: finish and exit the encoder adjustment (p1990).
  6. Alarm value 3801: connect the Voltage Sensing Module (VSM) and assign it to the synchronizing drive; the assignment uses p9910 and p0151. Then write the drive object number of the synchronizing drive into p3801. If the VSM sits on a neighboring drive object, make sure p0115[0] there holds the same current controller clock cycle as in the synchronizing drive.
  7. Alarm value 3845: finish and exit the friction characteristic record (p3845).

Reading the message value

The alarm value is stored in r2124 and must be read as a decimal number. One of the following values is present:

  • 1300 — the control mode (p1300) is not set to encoderless closed-loop speed control or to the U/f characteristic.
  • 1910 — motor data identification is currently running.
  • 1960 — speed controller optimization is currently running.
  • 1990 — encoder adjustment is currently running.
  • 3801 — the Voltage Sensing Module (VSM) was not found.
  • 3845 — a friction characteristic record is currently running.

Parameters the manual names

  • r2124 — read here, as a decimal number, to see which of the listed conditions is blocking the synchronization.
  • p1300 — set to 20 or to a value from 0 to 19 when the alarm value is 1300.
  • p1910 — use it to end the motor data identification when the alarm value is 1910.
  • p1960 — use it to end the speed controller optimization when the alarm value is 1960.
  • p1990 — use it to end the encoder adjustment when the alarm value is 1990.
  • p3801 — enter the drive object number of the synchronizing drive here when the VSM is not found (alarm value 3801).
  • p9910, p0151 — used when assigning the connected VSM to the synchronizing drive.
  • p0115[0] — must contain the same current controller clock cycle as the synchronizing drive when the VSM is connected to a neighboring drive object.
  • p3845 — use it to end the friction characteristic record when the alarm value is 3845.

Acknowledging and restarting

No acknowledgement is required. As soon as the condition named by the alarm value has been cleared — the control mode set accordingly, the running routine finished, or the VSM connected and assigned — the alarm withdraws by itself.

Questions technicians ask

What does alarm A07943 in SINAMICS mean?

The sync-line-drive function wanted to synchronize the drive with a line drive, but a precondition is not met. The alarm value in r2124, read as a decimal number, says which one.

How do I clear A07943?

Read r2124 and carry out the matching step: set p1300 to 20 or 0 to 19, exit the running identification, optimization, encoder adjustment or friction characteristic record, or connect and assign the VSM. The alarm then disappears without acknowledgement.

Why does the drive report the VSM as not found (alarm value 3801)?

The Voltage Sensing Module is missing or not correctly assigned. Connect it, assign it to the synchronizing drive via p9910 and p0151, enter the drive object number in p3801, and check that p0115[0] on a neighboring drive object matches the synchronizing drive.

Does A07943 have to be acknowledged?

No. It is an alarm that clears itself once the blocking condition has been removed.
