What it means
A01067 — Buffer memory: 100 % fill level reached tells you that the non-volatile buffer memory in which the drive stores parameter changes is completely full. The drive still accepts parameter changes — they continue to take effect in the volatile memory (RAM) — but every additional change is no longer taken into account in the non-volatile buffer memory. The condition can also arise when the buffer memory is active (p0014 = 1) and parameters are continually changed via a fieldbus system.
Why it appears
- The non-volatile buffer memory for parameter changes is filled to 100 %.
- All parameter changes beyond this point are no longer taken into account in the non-volatile buffer memory; the changes are still made in the volatile memory (RAM).
- The fill level also reaches 100 % when the buffer memory is active (p0014 = 1) and parameters are continually changed via a fieldbus system.
What to check
- If required, deactivate the buffer memory and clear it in the same step: set p0014 = 0.
- If required, clear the buffer memory without deactivating it: set p0014 = 2.
- To keep the stored parameter changes, have the drive transfer the entries in the buffer memory into the ROM — the buffer memory is then cleared. This transfer happens either when you save the parameters (p0971 = 1) or when you switch the Control Unit off and then on again.
Parameters the manual names
- p0014 (Buffer memory mode) — set it to 0 to deactivate and clear the buffer memory, or to 2 to clear it; the value 1 is the active state in which continual fieldbus parameter changes fill the memory up.
- p0971 (Save parameters) — set it to 1 to save the parameters: the entries in the buffer memory are transferred into the ROM and the buffer memory is then cleared.
Acknowledging and restarting
The drive does not intervene in operation because of this alarm, and no acknowledgement is needed. What matters is freeing the buffer memory again: clear it with p0014 = 0 or p0014 = 2, or let the entries pass into the ROM by saving the parameters (p0971 = 1) or by switching the Control Unit off and on again.
