F37896 — HF Damping Module (CU): Component properties inconsistent

The drive raises F37896 when the properties of the HF Damping Module have changed in an incompatible fashion with respect to the properties that were read in when the drive booted. The fault value names the affected DRIVE-CLiQ component by its component number, so you can tell straight away which module is meant. The comparison is performed by the Control Unit (CU); as a typical trigger, the manual names the replacement of a DRIVE-CLiQ cable or of a DRIVE-CLiQ component. The manuals describe this code for the S120 and S150.

• The properties of the DRIVE-CLiQ component (HF Damping Module) named by the fault value no longer match the properties captured at boot — they have changed in a way that is incompatible with what the drive stored then.
• A DRIVE-CLiQ cable or a DRIVE-CLiQ component has been replaced; the manual gives this as one possible cause of the property change.

1. Carry out a POWER ON so that the drive boots again and reads the component properties in afresh.
2. If a component has been replaced, make sure the replacement is of the same component type and, if possible, has the same firmware version.
3. If a DRIVE-CLiQ cable has been replaced, fit a cable with the same length as the original — or as close as possible to it — and comply with the maximum cable length.

• The fault value contains the component number of the HF Damping Module whose properties have changed; the manual fills the placeholder in the message value with this component number.

The fault is acknowledged immediately and requires no special measures. Acknowledging alone does not resolve the mismatch, because the properties are only read at boot: the remedy is therefore to carry out a POWER ON, after which the drive captures the properties of the HF Damping Module again. If you have replaced a component or a cable beforehand, observe the component-type, firmware-version and cable-length rules from the checks above before powering up.
