What it means
F35001 is raised when the Safety Basic Functions are used via the TM54F and the TM54F has been parameterized incorrectly (incorrect parameter assignment). With this functionality only four signals are permissible: STO active, SS1 active, internal event and safe state. Everything else is an illegal assignment. The two things the drive checks are the failsafe digital inputs (F-DI, Failsafe Digital Input), which must all carry the value 0 or 255, and the signal sources of the failsafe digital outputs (F-DO, Failsafe Digital Output), which must not select signals from the Safety Extended Functions.
Why it appears
- The Safety Basic Functions are used via TM54F and the TM54F has been assigned incorrect parameters.
- One or more parameters in the range p10024 ... p10038 are not set to 0 or 255.
- p10039 or one of the parameters p10042 ... p10045 uses signals from the Safety Extended Functions, although with the Safety Basic Functions only STO active, SS1 active, internal event and safe state may be parameterized.
What to check
- Read the fault value in r0949 as a binary number to localize the problem: bits 0 ... 3 show the drive group with an illegal F-DI, bits 4 ... 7 show the F-DO with an incorrect link.
- Check the setting of the failsafe digital inputs (F-DI) used for the Safety Extended Functions and set them to a value of 0 or 255 (p10024 ... p10039).
- Check the setting of the signal sources for the failsafe digital outputs (F-DO) and correct them if necessary (p10042 ... p10045).

- The drive stores the fault value in r0949; interpret the value in binary.
- Bit 0 = 1: drive group 1 error
- Bit 1 = 1: drive group 2 error
- Bit 2 = 1: drive group 3 error
- Bit 3 = 1: drive group 4 error
- Bits 0 ... 3 together specify for which drive group an illegal F-DI was parameterized.
- Bit 4 = 1: F-DO 0 error (p10042)
- Bit 5 = 1: F-DO 1 error (p10043)
- Bit 6 = 1: F-DO 2 error (p10044)
- Bit 7 = 1: F-DO 3 error (p10045)
- Bits 4 ... 7 together specify for which F-DOs incorrect links were specified.
Parameters the manual names
- p10024 ... p10038 — the F-DI parameters (p10024 = SI Motion SS2 input terminal, processor 1, through p10038 = SI TM54F Emergency Stop input terminal): each must carry the value 0 or 255.
- p10039 — SI Motion Safe State signal selection (processor 1): check that its signal source does not come from the Safety Extended Functions.
- p10042 ... p10045 — the F-DO signal sources (p10042 = SI Motion F-DO signal sources, processor 1, through p10045 = SI TM54F F-DO 3 signal sources; p10043 and p10044 belong to F-DO 1 and F-DO 2): correct any link that selects a Safety Extended Functions signal.
- r0949 — fault value: read it in binary to see which drive group and which F-DO parameter the fault is reporting.
Acknowledging and restarting
F35001 is a parameterization fault and only disappears once the F-DI and F-DO assignments have been corrected. Acknowledge the fault immediately after the correction; the acknowledgement requires a POWER ON, so switch the drive's power supply off and back on again before restarting.
