F33912 — Encoder 3: Device combination is not permissible

F33912 is raised by Encoder 3 when the selected device combination is not supported. In practice one of the following is true: the measuring unit connected to the EnDat 2.2 converter cannot be operated with that converter, the configured cycle combination is not supported by it, or the resolution of a linear measuring unit does not match the pole pair width of the linear motor. The drive writes the fault value to r0949; read as a decimal number it identifies the exact condition. The drive brings the motor to a standstill and the fault must be acknowledged before it will start again.

• The selected device combination is not supported.
• A measuring unit is connected that cannot be operated with the EnDat 2.2 converter — for instance because it has a pulse number/resolution of 2^n — or whose type (incremental) is not supported by the EnDat 2.2 converter.
• The maximum duration of the EnDat transfer (31.25 µs) was exceeded.
• The set combination of current controller cycle, DP cycle and Safety cycle is not supported by the EnDat 2.2 converter.
• The resolution of the linear measuring unit does not match the pole pair width of the linear motor.

1. Read the fault value in r0949 as a decimal number to determine which condition applies.
2. For fault value 1003, 1005 or 1006: use a measuring unit that is permissible.
3. For fault value 2001: set a permissible cycle combination; if required, use the standard settings.
4. For fault value 2002: use a measuring unit with a lower resolution (p0422).

The drive stores the fault value in r0949; interpret it as a decimal number (in the message text it appears as the %1 placeholder). The value is one of the following:

• 1003 — the connected measuring unit cannot be operated with the EnDat 2.2 converter. For instance, the measuring unit has a pulse number/resolution of 2^n.
• 1005 — the type of measuring unit (incremental) is not supported by the EnDat 2.2 converter.
• 1006 — the maximum duration of the EnDat transfer (31.25 µs) was exceeded.
• 2001 — the set combination of current controller cycle, DP cycle and Safety cycle is not supported by the EnDat 2.2 converter.
• 2002 — the resolution of the linear measuring unit does not match the pole pair width of the linear motor. Pole pair width, minimum = p0422 * 2^20.

• r0949 — fault value: read it here as a decimal number to see which of the five conditions (1003, 1005, 1006, 2001, 2002) triggered F33912.
• p0422 — absolute encoder linear measuring step resolution: for fault value 2002 the remedy is a measuring unit with a lower resolution; the minimum pole pair width of the linear motor results from p0422 * 2^20.

Once the inadmissible combination has been corrected — a permissible measuring unit fitted, a permissible cycle combination set or a lower resolution selected via p0422 — acknowledge the fault. Acknowledgment is released as soon as the pulse inhibit is active, after which the drive can be started again.
