F33899 — Encoder 3: Unknown fault

F33899 means that the Sensor Module connected as encoder 3 has reported a fault which the firmware of the Control Unit cannot interpret. The manual names one typical situation in which this happens: the firmware on the Sensor Module is more recent than the firmware on the Control Unit, so the Control Unit does not yet know this fault. Because the fault is unknown to the installed firmware, the manual points to a more recent description of the Control Unit for its significance.

Depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be signalled as an alarm or as a message without a reaction.

• A fault occurred on the Sensor Module for encoder 3 that the Control Unit firmware cannot interpret.

1. Read the fault value in r0949, interpreting it as a decimal number – it contains the fault number that the Control Unit firmware cannot interpret.
2. Compare the firmware versions: r0148 shows the Sensor Module firmware version, r0018 shows the Control Unit firmware version.
3. If the Sensor Module firmware is the newer one, replace the firmware on the Sensor Module with an older firmware version.
4. Alternatively, upgrade the firmware on the Control Unit so that it can interpret the reported fault.
5. If you need to know what the new fault means, look it up in a more recent description of the Control Unit.

• The message value appears as New message: %1 – the placeholder carries the fault number of the fault that the Control Unit firmware does not know.
• The fault value is stored in r0949 and must be interpreted as a decimal number.

Acknowledge the fault immediately; acknowledgement class is POWER ON, meaning the fault is only cleared once the converter power supply has been switched off and on again before restart. When the drive is configured to signal this condition only as an alarm or as a message without a reaction, neither a reaction nor an acknowledgement applies.
