What it means

F33851 reports that a DRIVE-CLiQ communication error has occurred between the Sensor Module connected as encoder 3 and the Control Unit: the DRIVE-CLiQ component did not set the sign-of-life to the Control Unit. The manuals for the S120/S150 and the G130/G150 describe this condition identically for Sensor Module Encoder 3. Depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be output as an alarm or without any reaction.

Why it appears

  • The DRIVE-CLiQ link from the Sensor Module involved (encoder 3) to the Control Unit has been disturbed by a communication error.
  • The DRIVE-CLiQ component did not set the sign-of-life to the Control Unit — the sign-of-life bit in the receive telegram is not set, which the drive reports as fault cause 10.

What to check

  1. Bring the firmware of the component involved up to date.
  2. Carry out a POWER ON for the component involved: switch the affected component off and then on again.

Reading the message value

  • The drive puts two pieces of information into the message value: the component number and the fault cause. In the fault value r0949 (or the alarm value r2124) this is coded as 0000yyxx hex, where yy = component number and xx = error cause.
  • For this code the error cause is 10: the sign-of-life bit in the receive telegram is not set.
