F33820 — Encoder 3 DRIVE-CLiQ: Telegram error

F33820 reports that a DRIVE-CLiQ communication error has occurred from the Control Unit to the encoder concerned — Encoder 3, the Sensor Module Encoder 3 component. Depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be issued as an alarm (A) or with no reaction (N). The message value identifies the affected component and the concrete cause of the telegram error: the drive codes it as 0000yyxx hex in r0949 (fault value) or r2124 (alarm value), where yy is the component number and xx the error cause. When the condition trips the drive as a fault, the drive stops and the fault must be acknowledged immediately before it can run again.

• A DRIVE-CLiQ communication error has occurred from the Control Unit to the encoder concerned (Sensor Module Encoder 3).

1. Carry out a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on).
2. Check the electrical cabinet design and the cable routing for EMC compliance.
3. Check the DRIVE-CLiQ wiring (interrupted cable, contacts, ...).
4. On the G130/G150, the remedy also refers to p9916 (DRIVE-CLiQ data transfer error shutdown threshold slave) in connection with this fault.

The message value consists of the component number (%1) and the fault cause (%2). The drive codes it in r0949 (fault value) or r2124 (alarm value) as 0000yyxx hex: yy = component number, xx = error cause. The fault cause has the following meaning:

• 1 (= 01 hex): Checksum error (CRC error).
• 2 (= 02 hex): Telegram is shorter than specified in the length byte or in the receive list.
• 3 (= 03 hex): Telegram is longer than specified in the length byte or in the receive list.
• 4 (= 04 hex): The length of the receive telegram does not match the receive list.
• 5 (= 05 hex): The type of the receive telegram does not match the receive list.
• 6 (= 06 hex): The address of the component in the telegram and in the receive list do not match.
• 7 (= 07 hex): A SYNC telegram is expected - but the received telegram is not a SYNC telegram.
• 8 (= 08 hex): No SYNC telegram is expected - but the received telegram is one.
• 9 (= 09 hex): The error bit in the receive telegram is set.
• 16 (= 10 hex): The receive telegram is too early.

• r0949 (fault value): read the coded message value of this fault here — 0000yyxx hex, where yy is the component number and xx the error cause.
• r2124 (alarm value): the message value is coded here in the same 0000yyxx hex format; the manual names r0949/r2124 together for this coding.

When F33820 occurs as a fault, the drive must be acknowledged immediately before it can be restarted; the first remedy step is a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on), and if the telegram error returns, work through the remaining checks above. When the drive's configuration issues the same condition only as an alarm (A) or with no reaction (N), it causes no automatic reaction of the drive and requires no acknowledgment.
