F33804 — Encoder 3: Checksum error

F33804 is raised when a checksum error occurs while the program memory on the Sensor Module Encoder 3 is being read out. The S120/S150 manual titles the condition Encoder 3: Sensor Module checksum error, while on G130 and G150 the same fault appears as Encoder 3: Checksum error — in both cases the affected component is the Sensor Module Encoder 3 and the descriptions match. Depending on the drive's configuration, the same condition can also be signalled as an alarm or with no reaction at all.

• A checksum error occurred when the program memory on the Sensor Module (Encoder 3) was read out — this is the only cause the manuals give for this fault.

1. Carry out a POWER ON: switch the converter off and switch it on again.
2. Upgrade the firmware to a later version (>= V2.6 HF3, >= V4.3 SP2, >= V4.4).
3. Check that the permissible ambient temperature for the component is maintained.
4. Replace the Sensor Module.

• The drive stores the fault value in r0949; interpret it hexadecimal, in the form yyyyxxxx hex.
• yyyy — memory area involved.
• xxxx — difference between the checksum at POWER ON and the actual checksum.

• r0949 — read the fault value of F33804 here and decode it hexadecimal: the first four digits (yyyy) give the memory area involved, the last four digits (xxxx) give the difference between the checksum at POWER ON and the actual checksum.

F33804 is acknowledged with a POWER ON — switch the converter off and on again; the drive will not restart until this power cycle has been carried out. Note that this same step heads the remedy list, so the first fix attempt is also the acknowledgement. If the drive is configured to signal the condition only as an alarm or with no reaction, no acknowledgement is required.
