What it means

On these drives the Safety Integrated (SI) function is integrated in the drive on the Motor Module (MM) and monitors the motor holding brake control. F30630 means that this function has detected a brake control error and has initiated a STOP A. The message value of the fault is the fault value: the drive stores it in r0949 and it must be interpreted as a decimal number. What to check

  1. Check p1278 (brake control diagnostics evaluation). For SBC, only p1278 = 0 is permissible.
  2. Select Safe Torque Off and de-select it again.
  3. Check the connection of the motor holding brake.
  4. Check the function of the motor holding brake.
  5. Check whether there is a DRIVE-CLiQ communication error between the Control Unit and the Motor Module involved and, if required, carry out a diagnostics routine for the faults identified.
  6. Check that the electrical cabinet design and cable routing comply with EMC regulations — for example, the shields of the motor cable and the brake conductors must be connected to the shield connecting plate and the motor connectors screwed tightly to the housing.
  7. Replace the Motor Module involved.
  8. When operating with a Safe Brake Module or Safe Brake Adapter: check its connection and, if required, replace the Safe Brake Module or Safe Brake Adapter.

Reading the message value

  • 10 — fault in the "open holding brake" operation: parameter p1278 incorrectly set; no brake connected or wire breakage (check whether the brake releases for p1278 = 1 and p9602/p9802 = 0, i.e. SBC deactivated); ground fault in the brake cable.
  • 30 — fault in the "close holding brake" operation: no brake connected or wire breakage (check whether the brake releases for p1278 = 1 and p9602/p9802 = 0, i.e. SBC deactivated); short-circuit in the brake winding.
  • 40 — fault in the "brake closed" state.
  • 60, 70 — fault in the brake control circuit of the Control Unit or communication fault between the Control Unit and the Motor Module (brake control).
  • 81 — Safe Brake Adapter: fault in the "brake closed" state.
  • 82 — Safe Brake Adapter: fault for the operation "open brake".
  • 83 — Safe Brake Adapter: fault for the operation "close brake".
  • 84, 85 — Safe Brake Adapter: fault in the brake control circuit of the Control Unit or communication fault between the Control Unit and the Motor Module (brake control).
  • 90 — brake released for service purposes (X4).
  • 91 — fault in the "open holding brake" operation: no brake connected or wire breakage (check whether the brake releases for p1278 = 1 and p9602/p9802 = 0, i.e. SBC deactivated).
