F06906 — Braking Module internal fault

F06906 is issued when the internal Braking Module reports a fault and is therefore inhibited. The underlying condition is one of two: an overcurrent or an excessively high I2t value in the Braking Module. The manuals describe the message identically for the G130, G150, S120 and S150, and the same condition can also be signalled as an alarm (A), depending on the drive's configuration. The message is additionally displayed via the BO p3686, and the associated Digital Braking Module fault signal can be read at r3686.

• The internal Braking Module has detected an overcurrent or an excessively high I2t value; it reports a fault and is inhibited as a result.

1. Read the fault value in r0949 bitwise binary: bit 0 set means the I2t value was exceeded, bit 1 set means overcurrent.
2. Reduce the number of braking operations — this is the remedy the manuals give.
3. Use r3686 (BO: Digital Braking Module fault) to view the Braking Module fault signal belonging to this message.

• The drive stores the fault value in r0949; the manual specifies that it is to be interpreted bitwise binary.
• Bit 0 = 1: I2t exceeded.
• Bit 1 = 1: overcurrent.

• r0949 — fault value: read it bitwise binary to see which condition inhibited the Braking Module (bit 0 = I2t exceeded, bit 1 = overcurrent).
• r3686 — BO: Digital Braking Module fault: shows the Braking Module fault signal associated with this message.

Acknowledge the fault immediately. Beyond that, the manuals name no further restart procedure: the remedy is to reduce the number of braking operations. When the same condition is present as an alarm (A) rather than a fault, the manual specifies no acknowledgement for it.
