F05057Parallel circuit: Power unit firmware versions differ

What it means

F05057 is raised when the power units connected in a parallel circuit do not all run the same firmware version. While the parallel configuration is being checked, the drive detects the first parameter in which a different version number appears; that parameter is stored as the fault value and is also reported in the message value.

Why it appears

  • The firmware versions of the power units connected in parallel do not match. Both manuals describe the fault the same way for the Power Module, so this cause applies to every drive object listed for the code.

What to check

  1. Read the fault value in r0949, interpreted as a decimal number: it names the parameter in which the first different version number was detected.
  2. Use power units with the same firmware version — for parallel circuit configurations, only power units with identical firmware versions may be used.

Reading the message value

  • Message value: the manual prints Parameter: %1 — the drive puts the number of the parameter concerned in the message value.
  • Fault value (r0949, interpret decimal): the parameter in which the first different version number was detected.

Parameters the manual names

  • r0949 — fault value: read it interpreted as decimal to see the parameter in which the first different firmware version number was detected.

Acknowledging and restarting

Acknowledge the fault — the entry allows immediate acknowledgment, so no power-up cycle is required for it. Because the reaction (OFF2) has switched the drive off, it will start again only after the fault has been acknowledged, and only once all power units in the parallel circuit run the same firmware version.

The same on every family

Every manual that describes F05057 gives it the same reaction, acknowledgement and message class.

Questions technicians ask

What does fault F05057 on a SINAMICS drive mean?

It means the firmware versions of the power units connected in a parallel circuit do not match. The drive detects the first parameter in which a different version number appears and stores that parameter as the fault value.

How do I clear F05057?

Use power units with the same firmware version — for parallel circuit configurations, only power units with identical firmware versions may be used. Once the versions match, acknowledge the fault.

Where can I see which parameter triggered F05057?

In the fault value r0949, interpreted as a decimal number: it contains the parameter in which the first different version number was detected. The same parameter number appears in the message value.
