What it means
F02080 reports that the trace configuration saved in the drive unit is gone. The drive removes the saved trace configuration when a unit changeover takes place, and it does the same when the reference parameters are altered. The fault therefore means that the trace has to be started again before a trace configuration exists in the drive unit.
Why it appears
- A unit changeover took place, and the trace configuration saved in the drive unit was removed with it.
- The reference parameters were altered; this deletes the saved trace configuration as well.
What to check
- Restart the trace so that a valid trace configuration is present in the drive unit again.
- Should the fault reappear, check which of the two documented triggers occurred — a unit changeover or altered reference parameters.
Acknowledging and restarting
The fault is cleared with a normal acknowledgement; it can be acknowledged straight away, without switching the drive off and on first. Acknowledging alone restores nothing — the trace must be restarted so that a configuration exists in the drive unit again.
What differs between the drive families
Straight from the manuals' own fields — F02080 is not described identically everywhere.

Questions technicians ask
What does fault F02080 mean on a SINAMICS drive?
It reports that the trace configuration saved in the drive unit has been deleted, either by a unit changeover or by altered reference parameters.
How do I clear F02080?
Restart the trace so that a configuration exists in the drive unit again, then acknowledge the fault. The acknowledgement is possible straight away, without a power-down.
Why did my trace configuration disappear?
The manual gives two triggers for the deletion: a unit changeover, or a change to the reference parameters. Either one removes the saved trace configuration from the drive unit.
Which SINAMICS drives report F02080?
The manuals for G120, G130, G150, S120 and S150 describe the code with the same cause and the same remedy: restart the trace.
