What it means
F01305 reports that a component of the configured topology has not been assigned its component number. Every component the drive expects in the topology — the power unit, a servo/vector drive, an encoder interface, a Voltage Sensing Module, a valve — receives its number in a dedicated parameter (p0121, p0131, p0141, p0151 or p0161), and the fault is raised as soon as one of these entries is missing. The fault also occurs when encoders have been configured (p0187 to p0189) but no component numbers exist for them. The manuals for the drive families listed here describe this fault identically.
Why it appears
- The component number from the topology was not parameterized — the entry is missing in p0121 (power unit, refer to p0107), p0131 (servo/vector drives, refer to p0107), p0141, p0151 or p0161.
- Encoders have been configured (p0187 to p0189), but no component numbers exist for them.
What to check
- Read the fault value in r0949 and interpret it as a decimal number — it contains the data set number.
- If encoders are configured, the value is the drive data set number plus 100 * encoder number — for example 3xx points to a missing entry in p0141 for encoder 3 (p0189).
- Enter the missing component number in the parameter that belongs to the affected component.
- If the component is not required, remove it and restart commissioning.
Reading the message value
- The drive stores the fault value in r0949; interpret it as a decimal number.
- The value is the data set number.
- If the fault was raised because a configured encoder has no component number, the value includes the drive data set number plus 100 * encoder number — e.g. 3xx if a component number was not entered in p0141 for encoder 3 (p0189).
Parameters the manual names
- p0121 (Power unit component number / PU comp_no) — enter the component number here when the power unit is the component without one; refer to p0107.
- p0107 (Drive object type / DO type) — the parameter the manual cross-refers to when entering the power unit or motor component number.
- p0131 (Motor component number / Mot comp_no) — enter the component number here for servo/vector drives; refer to p0107.
- p0141 (Encoder interface (Sensor Module) component number / Enc_intf comp_no) — enter the component number for the encoder interface; in the manual's example, 3xx means this entry is missing for encoder 3 (p0189).
- p0151 (Voltage Sensing Module component number / VSM comp_no) — enter the component number for the Voltage Sensing Module.
- p0161 (Valve component number / Valve comp_no) — enter the component number for the valve.
- p0187 / p0188 / p0189 (encoder data set number of encoder 1, 2 or 3 / EDS number) — the fault is also raised when an encoder configured via one of these has no component number.
- r0949 (Fault value) — read the data set number, interpreted as a decimal number, here.
Acknowledging and restarting
Enter the missing component number in the relevant parameter, or remove the component and restart commissioning if it is not needed. The fault is acknowledged immediately once the topology configuration has been corrected; the drive itself takes no automatic action in response to this fault.
The same on every family
Every manual that describes F01305 gives it the same reaction, acknowledgement and message class.

Questions technicians ask
What does SINAMICS fault F01305 mean?
A component of the topology was parameterized without its component number — the entry in p0121, p0131, p0141, p0151 or p0161 is missing. The fault can also appear when configured encoders (p0187 to p0189) have no component numbers.
Which parameter do I have to fill in for F01305?
That depends on the component: p0121 for the power unit and p0131 for servo/vector drives (both with reference to p0107), p0141 for the encoder interface, p0151 for the Voltage Sensing Module and p0161 for the valve.
How do I identify the affected component from the fault value?
Read r0949 as a decimal number: it contains the data set number. If encoders are involved, the value is the drive data set number plus 100 * encoder number — e.g. 3xx means the component number is missing in p0141 for encoder 3 (p0189).
How do I clear F01305?
Enter the missing component number, or remove the component and restart commissioning if it is not required, then acknowledge the fault immediately.
