A35926TM: Error temperature sensor channel 6

What it means

Alarm A35926 is raised by a Terminal Module (TM) when evaluating the temperature sensor connected to its channel 6: the drive detected an error during the evaluation, because the measured sensor resistance lies outside the permissible range for the connected sensor type (KTY84, PT100, PT1000 or a PTC thermistor). Depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be output as a fault (F) or as a message with no reaction (N).

Why it appears

  • When evaluating the temperature sensor on channel 6 of the Terminal Module (TM), an error occurred.
  • The measured resistance is too high for the connected sensor type — wire breakage or the sensor is not connected.
  • The measured resistance is too low for the connected sensor type.

What to check

  1. Make sure that the temperature sensor is connected correctly.
  2. Replace the sensor.

Reading the message value

  • The drive stores the alarm value in r2124; interpret the value as a decimal number.
  • 1 — wire breakage or sensor not connected: KTY84: R > 2170 Ohm, PT100: R > 194 Ohm, PT1000: R > 1944 Ohm.
  • 2 — measured resistance too low: PTC thermistor: R < 20 Ohm, KTY84: R < 180 Ohm, PT100: R < 60 Ohm, PT1000: R < 603 Ohm.

Parameters the manual names

  • r2124 — read the alarm value here (interpret it as a decimal number) to see whether the sensor resistance on channel 6 was too high (wire breakage or sensor not connected) or too low.

Acknowledging and restarting

As an alarm, the message requires no acknowledgement. If the drive is configured to output the condition as a fault instead, it is acknowledged IMMEDIATELY by POWER ON, i.e. the drive must be switched off and back on.

Questions technicians ask

What does alarm A35926 mean on a SINAMICS drive?

A Terminal Module detected an error while evaluating the temperature sensor on channel 6: the measured sensor resistance is outside the permissible range — either too high (wire breakage or sensor not connected) or too low.

How do I clear A35926?

Make sure the temperature sensor is connected correctly and then replace the sensor. As an alarm it needs no acknowledgement; if the condition is configured as a fault, it is acknowledged by POWER ON (switch the drive off and back on).

What does the alarm value of A35926 tell me?

Read the alarm value in r2124 as a decimal number: 1 means wire breakage or sensor not connected, 2 means the measured resistance is too low. The exact resistance thresholds per sensor type are listed on this page.

Which sensor types are evaluated on channel 6?

KTY84, PT100, PT1000 and PTC thermistors; each type has its own permissible resistance range, and exceeding it raises this message.
