A35929TM: Error temperature sensor channel 9

What it means

A35929 is signalled by a Terminal Module (TM) when the evaluation of the temperature sensor connected to its channel 9 produces a signal outside the permissible range for the connected sensor type. Depending on the drive configuration, the same condition can also be output as a fault or as a message without any reaction.

Why it appears

  • An error occurred while the Terminal Module was evaluating the temperature sensor on channel 9.
  • The sensor is not connected, or the sensor cable has a wire breakage (alarm value 1).
  • The measured resistance is too low for the sensor type connected (alarm value 2).

What to check

  1. Read the alarm value in r2124 (interpret it as a decimal number) to see whether the drive reports wire breakage / sensor not connected (1) or a resistance that is too low (2).
  2. Make sure that the temperature sensor is connected correctly.
  3. Replace the sensor.

Reading the message value

  • The message value is the alarm value, which the drive writes to r2124; the manual says to interpret it decimal.
  • 1 — wire breakage or sensor not connected: KTY84: R > 2170 Ohm, PT100: R > 194 Ohm, PT1000: R > 1944 Ohm.
  • 2 — measured resistance too low: PTC thermistor: R < 20 Ohm, KTY84: R < 180 Ohm, PT100: R < 60 Ohm, PT1000: R < 603 Ohm.
