A35922TM: Error temperature sensor channel 2

What it means

A35922 is raised by a Terminal Module (TM) when an error occurs while the drive evaluates the temperature sensor connected to channel 2. As an alarm it triggers no drive response; depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be issued as a fault or as a message with no reaction.

Why it appears

  • An error occurred while the Terminal Module was evaluating the temperature sensor on channel 2.
  • Wire breakage, or the sensor is not connected (alarm value 1).
  • The measured resistance is too low (alarm value 2).

What to check

  1. Make sure that the temperature sensor is connected correctly.
  2. Replace the sensor.

Reading the message value

  • The drive stores the alarm value in r2124; interpret it as a decimal number.
  • 1: wire breakage or sensor not connected. KTY84: R > 1630 Ohm (TM150: R > 2170 Ohm), PT100: R > 194 Ohm, PT1000: R > 1720 Ohm (TM150: R > 1944 Ohm)
  • 2: measured resistance too low. PTC thermistor: R < 20 Ohm, KTY84: R < 50 Ohm (TM150: R < 180 Ohm), PT100: R < 60 Ohm, PT1000: R < 603 Ohm

Parameters the manual names

  • r2124 (alarm value): read the stored value as a decimal number to see which sensor error the drive detected, 1 for wire breakage or a sensor that is not connected, 2 for a resistance that is too low.

Acknowledging and restarting

No acknowledgment is required for the alarm. If the drive is configured to signal this condition as a fault instead, that fault is acknowledged immediately by powering the drive off and on again (POWER ON).

Questions technicians ask

What does A35922 mean on a SINAMICS drive?

A Terminal Module has detected an error while evaluating the temperature sensor on channel 2. The alarm value in r2124 shows whether it is a wire breakage or unconnected sensor (1) or a resistance that is too low (2).

How do I fix A35922?

The remedy is to make sure that the sensor is connected correctly and to replace the sensor. The alarm itself requires no acknowledgment.

Which sensor thresholds belong to A35922?

For wire breakage: KTY84 above 1630 Ohm (TM150: above 2170 Ohm), PT100 above 194 Ohm, PT1000 above 1720 Ohm (TM150: above 1944 Ohm). For too low a resistance: PTC below 20 Ohm, KTY84 below 50 Ohm (TM150: below 180 Ohm), PT100 below 60 Ohm, PT1000 below 603 Ohm.

Does A35922 stop the drive?

No, as an alarm it triggers no drive reaction. Only when the drive is configured to issue the condition as a fault does an acknowledgment (POWER ON) become relevant.
