What it means

A07820 is raised when the motor temperature sensor that the drive is configured to use for monitoring — the source selected in p0600 — is not available. The alarm value stored in r2124 tells you which of six configuration situations the drive has detected: a sensor type set in p0601 that the selection in p0600 cannot evaluate, a signal source that is not interconnected, a component with sensor evaluation that is missing or was removed while the drive was running, or a Motor Module whose firmware cannot evaluate the sensor at all (r0192.21). The alarm therefore points at the sensor configuration, not at an overtemperature.

Why it appears

  • The motor temperature sensor selected for monitoring in p0600 is not available to the drive.

What to check

  1. Read the alarm value in r2124 (interpret it decimal) to identify which of the six cases applies.
  2. Alarm value 1: in p0600 set an encoder with temperature sensor.
  3. Alarm value 2: interconnect p0603 with the temperature signal.
  4. Alarm value 3 or 4: set the available temperature sensor (p0600, p0601); alternatively set p4610 ... p4613 = 0 (no sensor), or interconnect p0608 or p0609 with an external temperature signal.
  5. Alarm value 5: connect the component with the temperature sensor and check the DRIVE-CLiQ connection.
  6. Alarm value 6: update the Motor Module firmware and connect the temperature sensor via an encoder.

Reading the message value

The message value %1 is the alarm value; the drive stores it in r2124, to be interpreted decimal:

  • 1 — p0601 = 10 (SME), but in p0600 not evaluated via encoder is selected.
  • 2 — p0600 = 10 (BICO), but the signal source (p0603) is not interconnected.
  • 3 — p0601 = 11 (BICO), but in p0600 not evaluated via BICO interconnection is selected (20 or 21).
  • 4 — p0601 = 11 (BICO) and p4610-p4613 > 0, but the associated signal source (p0608, p0609) is not interconnected.
  • 5 — Component with sensor evaluation not present or has been removed in the meantime.
  • 6 — Evaluation via Motor Module not possible (r0192.21).

Parameters the manual names

Acknowledging and restarting

A07820 requires no acknowledgement and the drive does not trip on it. Once the sensor configuration in p0600/p0601 and the signal-source interconnections are corrected — or the missing component is reconnected — the alarm clears by itself.
