On the display
The panel shows VSD - PHASE A INPUT DCCT. It is listed among the YMC2's safety shutdown messages, so the chiller is shut down while the message is active.
What it means
During the precharge time, the input current in each phase to the VSD is measured. If the input current in phase A does not exceed the minimum input current shutdown value given for the drive model, this shutdown is generated. In short: the phase A input current stayed below the minimum while the drive was in precharge.
Why it appears
- The input current in phase A to the VSD does not exceed the shutdown value for the drive model during the precharge time.
What to check
- Identify the drive model fitted to the chiller, because the shutdown value depends on the model of drive.
- During the precharge time, compare the phase A input current to the VSD with the shutdown value for that model to confirm whether it stays below the minimum.
Setpoints and thresholds
- Drive models 0490A, 0490 and 490: minimum input current shutdown value 5.0 amps.
- Drive models 744 and 0774: minimum input current shutdown value 15.0 amps.
Reset and restart
The manuals give one action for this message, and they state it identically: When the condition clears, the chiller can be started after the CLEAR FAULTS button is pressed.
So once the condition is gone, press CLEAR FAULTS and the chiller can be started again.
Questions engineers ask
What does VSD - PHASE A INPUT DCCT mean on a YORK YMC2?
It is a safety shutdown that appears when the input current in phase A to the VSD does not exceed the minimum shutdown value for the drive model during the precharge time.
What input current triggers the VSD - PHASE A INPUT DCCT shutdown?
5.0 amps on drive models 0490A, 0490 and 490, and 15.0 amps on drive models 744 and 0774. Below the value for the fitted drive during precharge, the shutdown is generated.
How do I clear the VSD - PHASE A INPUT DCCT message on a YMC2?
When the condition clears, press the CLEAR FAULTS button, after which the chiller can be started again.
