On the display
The control center shows Warning - Liquid level setpoint not achieved. The control software bulletin prints the same message as Warning - Liquid Level Setpoint not Achieved; both spellings refer to this same warning. The manuals classify it as an auto-reset warning: it sets and clears by itself on the conditions described below, and when it occurs it is written to the security log.
What it means
The message means the refrigerant level has not been brought within 15% of its setpoint. It is set when all three of the following are true at the same time for 10 continuous minutes: the chiller is Running, Run Time is greater than 30 minutes, and the refrigerant level lies outside the tolerance band around the setpoint — either above (Refrigerant Level setpoint +15%) or below (Refrigerant Level setpoint -15%). In the manual's shorter wording, the refrigerant level simply sits outside the ±15% band for 10 continuous minutes after the chiller has been running for 30 minutes. Once set, the warning is added to the security log.
Why it appears
- The refrigerant level is above the band: Refrigerant Level > (Refrigerant Level setpoint +15%).
- The refrigerant level is below the band: Refrigerant Level < (Refrigerant Level setpoint -15%).
- Either deviation has held for 10 continuous minutes while the chiller is Running and Run Time is greater than 30 minutes.
The manuals define the warning by this trigger condition; they do not name a component failure or other underlying cause behind it.
Setpoints and thresholds
- Refrigerant Level setpoint ±15% — the band the refrigerant level must sit inside to keep the warning off; above +15% or below -15% of the setpoint counts as not achieved.
- 10 continuous minutes — how long the level must stay outside the band before the warning sets.
- Run Time > 30 minutes — the warning can only set once the chiller has been running longer than 30 minutes.
Reset and restart
This warning resets itself; the manuals give no manual reset step for it. Auto-reset: clears when the refrigerant level is within the 15% range or the chiller is stopped.
The control software wording lists the release conditions as: the chiller is not Running, or the refrigerant level is back inside the band — (Refrigerant Level setpoint -15%) < Refrigerant Level < (Refrigerant Level setpoint +15%). When either condition is met, the message disappears from the display on its own.
Questions engineers ask
What does Warning - Liquid level setpoint not achieved mean on a YORK YK?
It is an auto-reset warning that sets when the refrigerant level is more than 15% above or more than 15% below the Refrigerant Level setpoint for 10 continuous minutes, after the chiller has been running for more than 30 minutes. When it occurs it is added to the security log.
How do I clear the liquid level setpoint warning on a YORK YK?
You do not reset it manually: the warning clears itself when the refrigerant level comes back within the 15% band around the setpoint, or when the chiller is stopped. The manuals give no separate reset procedure.
Why does the warning appear only after 30 minutes of running?
The set conditions include Run Time greater than 30 minutes, so the level is judged against the ±15% band only once the chiller has been running longer than 30 minutes. The deviation must then hold for 10 continuous minutes.
Where is this warning recorded?
When the warning occurs it is added to the security log.
