YORK YK — Warning - Condenser or VGD sensor failure

The panel displays the message as Warning - Condenser or VGD sensor failure. The manuals for this model print the text in this single wording, so there are no alternate variants to watch for. It belongs to the warning messages group of the control center, and it stays on the display until the condition clears and the warning is acknowledged (see Reset).

This warning is the control center's cross-check between two pressure measurements: the discharge/stall pressure transducer and the condenser pressure transducer. Since both transducers are measuring essentially the same pressure, their readings must stay within the specified tolerance of each other. When the difference between them is greater than 21 psid — the fuller table wording also includes less than -21 psid — and that state persists for 3 min continuously, the warning is raised. The manual describes the purpose of this feature as verifying the operation of the discharge/stall transducer and the condenser transducer, so a sustained disagreement means one of the two is no longer reading correctly. While the warning is displayed, the VGD is driven to the full open position and held there until the warning is cleared.

• The readings of the discharge/stall pressure transducer and the condenser pressure transducer diverge beyond the tolerance: greater than 21 psid, or (in the fuller wording) less than -21 psid, held continuously for 3 min.
• Because both transducers measure essentially the same pressure, the manual treats this sustained mismatch itself as the cause — a failure of the operation of one of the two transducers — and lists no other cause.

• Difference threshold: greater than 21 psid between the discharge/stall pressure transducer and the condenser pressure transducer; the fuller wording adds less than -21 psid as the lower bound.
• Detection time: the difference must be present for 3 min continuously before the warning is displayed.

Two steps, in this order: the condition has to clear first, then the warning is acknowledged. One manual puts it as This message is displayed until the condition clears and the Warning Reset key is pressed. The other manual gives the same acknowledgment as pressing the Clear button on the System Details Screen. Once the warning is cleared, the VGD returns to normal operation.
