F32875Encoder 2: power supply voltage failed

What it means

F32875 is raised when the sensor component connected as Encoder 2 (Sensor Module Encoder 2) reports to the Control Unit over DRIVE-CLiQ that its supply voltage has failed. The reported fault cause is 9 (= 09 hex): the power supply voltage for the components has failed. Depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be issued as an alarm (A) or without any reaction (N).

Why it appears

  • The DRIVE-CLiQ component involved signals to the Control Unit, via DRIVE-CLiQ communication, that its supply voltage has failed.
  • Fault cause 9 (= 09 hex): the power supply voltage for the components has failed.

What to check

  1. Carry out a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on).
  2. Check the power supply voltage wiring for the DRIVE-CLiQ component (interrupted cable, contacts, ...).
  3. Check the dimensioning of the power supply for the DRIVE-CLiQ component.

Reading the message value

  • The message value combines the component number (%1) and the fault cause (%2).
  • The individual information is coded in r0949/r2124 as 0000yyxx hex: yy = component number, xx = error cause.
  • For this code the error cause is 9 (= 09 hex), the failed power supply voltage.

Parameters the manual names

  • r0949 (fault value): shows the coded message value 0000yyxx hex — read yy to identify which component reports the failed supply voltage and xx to read the fault cause.
  • r2124 (alarm value): holds the same coded value when the condition is signalled as an alarm.

Acknowledging and restarting

After the supply voltage problem has been remedied, the fault must be acknowledged before the drive will accept a start command again; a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on) is part of the remedy itself. Where the condition is configured as an alarm (A) or with no reaction (N), no acknowledgement is required.

What differs between the drive families

Questions technicians ask

What does SINAMICS fault F32875 mean?

The Control Unit is told over DRIVE-CLiQ that the supply voltage for the sensor component connected as Encoder 2 has failed; fault cause 9 (= 09 hex) is reported.

How do I fix F32875?

Carry out a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on), then check the power supply voltage wiring for the DRIVE-CLiQ component (interrupted cable, contacts) and the dimensioning of its power supply.

Where can I read the F32875 fault value?

In r0949, or in r2124 when the condition appears as an alarm. It is coded as 0000yyxx hex: yy is the component number and xx the error cause, which is 9 (= 09 hex) here.

Can F32875 appear as an alarm instead of a fault?

Yes. Depending on the drive configuration, the same condition can also be signalled as an alarm (A) or with no reaction (N), and in those cases no acknowledgement is needed.
