A07550Drive: Not possible to reset encoder parameters

What it means

A07550 is raised when a factory setting is carried out on the drive — for example with p0970 = 1 — and the encoder parameters cannot be reset as part of it. The drive reads the encoder parameters directly out of the encoder via DRIVE-CLiQ, so the reset depends on that readout working. Depending on the drive configuration, the same condition can also be issued as a fault (F) or as a message without reaction (N).

Why it appears

  • A factory setting was being carried out (e.g. with p0970 = 1) and it was not possible to reset the encoder parameters.
  • The encoder parameters are read out directly from the encoder via DRIVE-CLiQ.

What to check

  1. Repeat the operation (the factory setting).
  2. Check the DRIVE-CLiQ connection.

Reading the message value

  • The message value is the alarm value, which the drive stores in r2124 — read it as a decimal number.
  • The value is the component number of the encoder involved.

Parameters the manual names

  • p0970 — performs the drive parameter reset; the alarm occurred while a factory setting started with this parameter (e.g. p0970 = 1) was running.
  • r2124 — alarm value of this message; interpreted as a decimal number it contains the component number of the encoder involved.

Acknowledging and restarting

As an alarm, A07550 requires no acknowledgment and does not trip the drive. Repeat the factory setting — and check the DRIVE-CLiQ connection if it fails again — until the encoder parameters reset successfully. When the drive is configured to issue the condition as a fault instead, that fault must be acknowledged immediately with POWER ON.

The same on every family

Every manual that describes A07550 gives it the same reaction, acknowledgement and message class.

Questions technicians ask

What does alarm A07550 on a SINAMICS drive mean?

It means that during a factory setting — for example with p0970 = 1 — the drive could not reset the encoder parameters. The encoder parameters are read out directly from the encoder via DRIVE-CLiQ.

How do I clear A07550?

Repeat the operation (the factory setting) and check the DRIVE-CLiQ connection. As an alarm, the message needs no acknowledgment.

Which encoder is involved in A07550?

The alarm value in r2124, interpreted as a decimal number, contains the component number of the encoder involved.

Does A07550 stop the drive?

No — as an alarm it requires no acknowledgment and does not trip the drive. If the drive is configured to raise the condition as a fault, it must be acknowledged immediately with POWER ON.
