Highlights
The large number of different machines with different needs can still be controlled by a single automation system.
Each machine has its own SIMATIC S7 PLC for individual open and closed-loop machine control:
- Mixer Control of proportioning and monitoring of the machine
- Carding machine Control of speeds and speed ratios for the rollers
- Cross-folder Regulation of the bonded material thicknesses through the interpolation of the conveyor belts with an FM 357-2 numerical control
- Calender Temperature control and machine monitoring.
Область применения
The manufacture of bonded fabrics is a further area of textile production for engineering (brake pads, clutches and gaskets) and domestic applications (cleaning cloths, lining materials). The key to success in this field is the interaction of different machines and different technologies.
Whereas a simple rugged control system is used for proportioning in a mixer, a carding machine depends on the maintenance of an accurate ratio between the speeds of the tambour, working roller, clearer roller and doffer.
The movement of the folding cloths on the cross-folder must be rapid and smooth, while accurate control of the temperature determines the level of quality on the calender.
Further machine units upstream of the carding machine, such as openers or cleaners, have their own individual technical requirements, as do the units downstream such as needling machine.
Дизайн
The machines are ideally interconnected by the high-performance PROFIBUS DP bus. A SIMATIC S7 PLC and OP25 are used for centralized control and monitoring of the entire process across the bus.
Distributed OP17 operator panels are used for diagnostics and status display on each machine.
Various configurations are available for the individual machine drives to ensure the optimum solution for all tasks:
- The mixer conveyor is driven by an asynchronous motor and a SIMOVERT MICROMASTER frequency converter.
- The rollers of the carding machine are powered by asynchronous motors and vector-controlled SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES converters to ensure maximum speed constancy and the best possible synchronization.
- The drive for the folding cloths on the cross-folder is implemented with servo motors of the type 1FK6 for enhanced dynamic response and high-speed reaction.
- A vector-controlled SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES converter in conjunction with an asynchronous motor is suitable for moving the large masses of the calender. This solution combines ruggedness, high temperature endurance and easy regulation.
