F37820 — HF Damping Module: Telegram error

F37820 is raised when a DRIVE-CLiQ telegram error occurs on the connection from the Control Unit to the HF Damping Module. The damping module has received a telegram it cannot accept — for example because its checksum, length, type or address does not match the receive list, or because it arrived at the wrong point in the SYNC cycle. Which of these applies is stored as a fault cause in the message value (see below). The code is described for SINAMICS S120 and S150.

• A DRIVE-CLiQ communication error has occurred on the path from the Control Unit to the damping module: the module received a telegram that did not match what it expects, whether in content, length, type, address, SYNC timing or because the error bit was set.

1. Carry out a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on).
2. Check the electrical cabinet design and the cable routing for EMC compliance.
3. Check the DRIVE-CLiQ wiring (interrupted cable, contacts, ...).

The message value contains the component number (%1) and the fault cause (%2). It is coded in r0949 or r2124 as 0000yyxx hex, where yy is the component number and xx is the error cause. The manual decodes the fault cause as follows:

• 1 (= 01 hex): Checksum error (CRC error)
• 2 (= 02 hex): Telegram is shorter than specified in the length byte or in the receive list
• 3 (= 03 hex): Telegram is longer than specified in the length byte or in the receive list
• 4 (= 04 hex): The length of the receive telegram does not match the receive list
• 5 (= 05 hex): The type of the receive telegram does not match the receive list
• 6 (= 06 hex): The address of the component in the telegram and in the receive list do not match
• 7 (= 07 hex): A SYNC telegram is expected - but the received telegram is not a SYNC telegram
• 8 (= 08 hex): No SYNC telegram is expected - but the received telegram is one
• 9 (= 09 hex): The error bit in the receive telegram is set
• 16 (= 10 hex): The receive telegram is too early

• r0949 — fault value: read the coded message value of this fault here; it is stored as 0000yyxx hex, with yy as the component number and xx as the fault cause.
• r2124 — alarm value: the manual names it alongside r0949 as the place where the same coded information (component number and error cause) is stored.

The fault is acknowledged immediately. The remedy begins with a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on); if the telegram error persists, continue with the cabinet EMC check and the DRIVE-CLiQ wiring check listed above.
