F37025 — HF Damping Module: Chip overtemperature

F37025 reports that the chip temperature of the HF Damping Module has risen above the permissible limit value. The drive trips with OFF2 — the pulses are disabled and the motor coasts down — and the fault must be acknowledged immediately before the drive will start again. The manual describes this fault for SINAMICS S120 and S150 and notes that the measured condition can be followed in r0037 and in the fault value r0949.

• The chip temperature has exceeded the permissible limit value.
• The permissible load duty cycle was not maintained.
• Cooling is insufficient — for example, a fan has failed.
• The module is overloaded.
• The ambient temperature is too high.
• The pulse frequency is too high.

1. Adapt the load duty cycle so that the permissible load duty cycle is maintained.
2. Check whether the fan is running.
3. Check the fan elements.
4. Check that the ambient temperature is within the permissible range.
5. Check the motor load.
6. If the set pulse frequency is higher than the rated pulse frequency, reduce it.

• The drive stores the temperature difference between the heat sink and the chip in r0949.
• Interpret the fault value as a decimal number; it is given in steps of 0.01 °C.

• r0949 — fault value: for this fault it contains the heat-sink-to-chip temperature difference; read it as a decimal number in 0.01 °C.
• r0037 — the note to this fault refers to this parameter; it displays the Control Unit temperature (CU temp).

Acknowledge the fault immediately. The drive coasts down and must be acknowledged before it will start again; remove the cause first so the fault does not reoccur.
