F35836TM DRIVE-CLiQ: Send error for DRIVE-CLiQ data

What it means

F35836 is raised when a DRIVE-CLiQ communication error occurs between the Control Unit and the Terminal Module (TM) involved: the data were not able to be sent. The S120/S150 and G130/G150 manuals describe this fault identically, and in both the affected component is the Terminal Module. In reaction to the fault the drive switches off (OFF1, alternatively OFF2), and the manual requires the fault to be acknowledged immediately.

Why it appears

  • A DRIVE-CLiQ communication error has occurred between the Control Unit and the Terminal Module involved; the data could not be sent.
  • Fault cause 65 (= 41 hex): the telegram type does not match the send list.

What to check

  1. Read the message value in r0949 (or r2124): it is coded 0000yyxx hex, so yy identifies the component number of the Terminal Module involved and xx the error cause.
  2. Carry out a POWER ON — this is the remedy the manual gives for this fault.

Reading the message value

  • The drive stores two pieces of information in the message value: the component number (%1) and the fault cause (%2).
  • Coding in r0949/r2124: 0000yyxx hex — yy = component number, xx = error cause.
  • Fault cause 65 (= 41 hex) means: telegram type does not match the send list.

Parameters the manual names

  • r0949 (fault value): read the coded message value here to identify the component number (yy) and the fault cause (xx) of F35836.
  • r2124 (alarm value): the manual names this parameter alongside r0949 as a location where the same coded value is stored.

Acknowledging and restarting

The fault must be acknowledged immediately. After acknowledging, the manual gives exactly one remedy for this fault: Carry out a POWER ON.

Questions technicians ask

What does fault F35836 mean on a SINAMICS drive?

It reports a DRIVE-CLiQ communication error between the Control Unit and the Terminal Module involved: the data were not able to be sent.

How do I clear fault F35836?

Acknowledge the fault immediately and then carry out a POWER ON, which is the remedy the manual lists for this fault.

What does fault cause 65 in F35836 mean?

65 (= 41 hex) means the telegram type does not match the send list.

Where can I read which Terminal Module triggered F35836?

In r0949 (or r2124): the value is coded 0000yyxx hex, where yy is the component number and xx the error cause.
