F34875VSM: power supply voltage failed

What it means

F34875 is raised by the Voltage Sensing Module (VSM): the DRIVE-CLiQ communication from the DRIVE-CLiQ component involved signals to the Control Unit that its supply voltage has failed. The drive coasts down and must be acknowledged immediately before it will start again. The fault value stored in r0949 (or r2124) tells you which component reported the condition and why — for this code the cause is always 9 (= 09 hex), the failed power supply voltage for the components.

Why it appears

  • The power supply voltage for the DRIVE-CLiQ component involved has failed, and the component reports this over DRIVE-CLiQ to the Control Unit (fault cause 9 = 09 hex).

What to check

  1. Carry out a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on).
  2. Check the power supply voltage wiring for the DRIVE-CLiQ component — interrupted cable, contacts and similar.
  3. Check the dimensioning of the power supply for the DRIVE-CLiQ component.

Reading the message value

  • Message value: Component number: %1, fault cause: %2.
  • The individual information is coded in the message value (r0949/r2124) as 0000yyxx hex: yy = component number, xx = error cause.
  • Fault cause 9 (= 09 hex): the power supply voltage for the components has failed.

Parameters the manual names

  • r0949 — fault value: read out the coded message value of this fault here to identify the component number and the fault cause.
  • r2124 — alarm value: named by the manual alongside r0949 as the register in which the coded message value is stored.

Acknowledging and restarting

The manual's remedy starts with a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on). The fault is acknowledged immediately; once the supply voltage wiring and its dimensioning have been checked and any defect corrected, the drive can be powered on again and restarted.

Questions technicians ask

What does fault F34875 in SINAMICS mean?

The Voltage Sensing Module (VSM) signals over DRIVE-CLiQ to the Control Unit that the supply voltage for the DRIVE-CLiQ component involved has failed.

How do I clear fault F34875?

First carry out a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on). Then check the power supply voltage wiring of the component for interrupted cables or poor contacts and check the dimensioning of its power supply.

Where can I see which component triggered F34875?

The coded message value in r0949 or r2124 has the form 0000yyxx hex, where yy is the component number and xx the error cause; cause 9 (= 09 hex) means the component's power supply voltage has failed.
