What it means
A50011 is raised when an EtherNet/IP controller attempts to establish a connection to the drive using an incorrect configuring telegram: the telegram length set in the controller does not match the parameterization in the drive device. The cabinet-drive manuals print the message title EtherNetIP/COMM BOARD: configuration error
and name the CBE20 EtherNet/IP Communication Board, while the G120/G120XA manuals title it Ethernet/IP: configuration error
. Depending on the drive configuration, the same condition can also be output as a fault instead of an alarm.
Why it appears
- An EtherNet/IP controller attempts to establish a connection using an incorrect configuring telegram (reported at the CBE20 EtherNet/IP Communication Board).
- The telegram length set in the controller does not match the parameterization in the drive device.
What to check
- Check the set telegram length on both sides — in the EtherNet/IP controller and in the drive device; the alarm is raised precisely because these lengths do not match.
- For PZD interface 1, read p0922: as long as p0922 is not 999, the length of the telegram selected there applies; for p0922 = 999, the maximum interconnected PZD (r2067) applies.
- For PZD interface 2, the manual specifies that the maximum interconnected PZD (r8867) applies.
Parameters the manual names
- p0922 (IF1 PROFIdrive PZD telegram selection): the telegram the drive expects on PZD interface 1 — unless p0922 = 999, the length of the selected telegram applies.
- r2067 (IF1 PZD maximum interconnected): the maximum interconnected PZD of interface 1, which is the expected length while p0922 = 999.
- r8867 (IF2 PZD maximum interconnected): the maximum interconnected PZD of interface 2, the length that applies on the second interface.
Acknowledging and restarting
As an alarm, A50011 requires no acknowledgement and triggers no stop response of its own; the mismatch itself is the condition, so the configuring telegram of the controller and the drive parameterization have to be brought back in line (see the checks above). If the drive is configured to output the same condition as a fault, the manual requires that fault to be acknowledged immediately.
What differs between the drive families
Straight from the manuals' own fields — A50011 is not described identically everywhere.

Questions technicians ask
What does SINAMICS alarm A50011 mean?
An EtherNet/IP controller is trying to establish a connection to the drive using an incorrect configuring telegram: the telegram length set in the controller does not match the parameterization in the drive device.
How do I fix A50011?
Check the set telegram length and make it match the drive: on PZD interface 1 the length of the telegram selected in p0922 applies (or r2067 when p0922 = 999), and on PZD interface 2 the maximum interconnected PZD in r8867 applies.
Does A50011 stop the drive or need an acknowledgement?
As an alarm it requires neither. If the drive is configured to output the same condition as a fault, that fault must be acknowledged immediately.
Which parameters belong to A50011?
p0922, the PROFIdrive PZD telegram selection for interface 1; r2067, the maximum interconnected PZD of interface 1; and r8867, the maximum interconnected PZD of interface 2.
