A03507Digital output not set

What it means

A03507 is raised when a digital output has not been set although its signal source is specifying it. The drive reports this code as an alarm; depending on the drive's configuration, the same condition can also be issued as a fault (F) or with no reaction (N). The message text does not name the affected output — you read that from the alarm value r2124 (see below).

Why it appears

  • The 24 V power supply for the digital output is missing.
  • The digital output is in current limiting, for example because of a short-circuit.
  • The digital output is being used for Safety Extended Functions.
  • The control has authority to access the digital output by means of direct access; r0729 shows this access authority.

What to check

  1. Check the 24 V power supply of the digital outputs — for example terminal X130.6 on the CU310-2 (ground X130.5) or terminal X131.7 on the CU305 (ground X131.8), depending on the Control Unit in use.
  2. Check the output terminals for short-circuits.
  3. Reset the signal source of the digital output that is being used for Safety Extended Functions.
  4. Carry out a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on).

Reading the message value

  • The message value of this code is the alarm value, which the drive stores in r2124; it is to be interpreted bitwise binary.
  • The alarm value identifies the digital output involved.
  • It is structured the same as r0747, the status of the CU digital outputs.

Parameters the manual names

  • r2124 — alarm value: read it bitwise binary to identify which digital output did not set.
  • r0747 — CU digital outputs status (CU DO status): the alarm value r2124 is structured the same as this parameter.
  • r0729 — CU digital outputs access authority (CU DO acc_auth): shows whether the control has authority to access a digital output by direct access, one of the possible causes here.

Acknowledging and restarting

As an alarm, A03507 requires no acknowledgment. If the drive is configured to issue the same condition as a fault, it is acknowledged immediately by a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on). In every case the remedy ends the same way: once the cause has been remedied, carry out a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on).

The same on every family

Every manual that describes A03507 gives it the same reaction, acknowledgement and message class.

Questions technicians ask

What does SINAMICS alarm A03507 mean?

A digital output has not been set even though its signal source is commanding it. The alarm value in r2124 tells you which output is involved.

How do I fix A03507?

Check the 24 V power supply and the output terminals for short-circuits, reset the signal source if the output is used for Safety Extended Functions, and then carry out a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on).

Why is my digital output not switching although the signal source is set?

The manual lists four causes: missing power supply, current limiting such as a short-circuit, use for Safety Extended Functions, or the control having direct-access authority over the output (see r0729).

Does A03507 have to be acknowledged?

As an alarm it requires no acknowledgment. If the same condition is configured as a fault, it is acknowledged immediately by a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on).
