The scale range of a pressure gauge defines the scale start value and full scale value of the scale printed on the dial of the pressure gauge. The correct scale range depends on the process pressure of the respective application and the process conditions. There are predefined standard scale ranges for pressure gauges in accordance with European and American standards. For special display ranges, please contact WIKA support. Ideally, the process pressure of the application should be approx. 2/3 of the full scale value of the pressure gauge. Example: For a process pressure of 40 bar, for example, a pressure gauge with a scale range of 0 to 60 bar would therefore be recommended.

A process connection is the connection point between the measuring instrument and the measuring location. The medium enters the respective measuring instrument via the process connection. The process connection is therefore a wetted part. The most-common process connections for pressure gauges are threaded connections defined in accordance with particular standards. Common process connections are shown below as examples in stainless steel.

Depending on the medium, some of the process connections are also available with special coatings or special materials. It must always be ensured that the material of the process connection is compatible with the medium or is corrosion-resistant.
