בתעשיית התהליכים, למדידת הפרשי לחץ באמצעות מעגלים ראשוניים ומשניים יש מספר יתרונות לעומת שיטות קונבנציונליות למדידת הפרשי לחץ. נקודות המדידה, הנמצאות בדרך כלל במרחק של כמה מטרים זו מזו, מחוברות באמצעות כבל גמיש וקל לניתוב. בכך נמנעת הצורך בקפילרות, שהתקנתן מורכבת ושהן רגישות לשינויים בטמפרטורה.
