F40820 — CX32 DRIVE-CLiQ: Telegram error

F40820 is a CX32 DRIVE-CLiQ telegram error: a DRIVE-CLiQ communications error has occurred from the Control Unit to the controller extension involved — in the manuals for the G130, G150, S120 and S150 this is the DRIVE-CLiQ Hub Module (Hub). A telegram arriving at the hub was defective or not the one expected, so the drive coasts down and the fault must be acknowledged immediately before it can run again.

1. Carry out a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on).
2. Check the electrical cabinet design and the cable routing for EMC compliance.
3. Check the DRIVE-CLiQ wiring (interrupted cable, contacts, ...).

The drive stores the message value in r0949 or r2124 and codes it as 0000yyxx hex, where yy is the component number and xx the fault cause:

• 1 (= 01 hex): checksum error (CRC error).
• 2 (= 02 hex): the telegram is shorter than specified in the length byte or in the receive list.
• 3 (= 03 hex): the telegram is longer than specified in the length byte or in the receive list.
• 4 (= 04 hex): the length of the receive telegram does not match the receive list.
• 5 (= 05 hex): the type of the receive telegram does not match the receive list.
• 6 (= 06 hex): the address of the component in the telegram and in the receive list do not match.
• 7 (= 07 hex): a SYNC telegram is expected, but the received telegram is not a SYNC telegram.
• 8 (= 08 hex): no SYNC telegram is expected, but the received telegram is one.
• 9 (= 09 hex): the error bit in the receive telegram is set.
• 16 (= 10 hex): the receive telegram is too early.

• r2124 — alarm value: the second location the manual names for the same coded message value of this fault.
• p9916 — DRIVE-CLiQ data transfer error shutdown threshold slave: the parameter the manual's remedy cross-refers to for this fault.

Acknowledge the fault immediately. The manual's remedy is to carry out a POWER ON — switch the drive off and on again — before returning it to service. If F40820 reappears, work through the checks above.
