F07894Drive: Load monitoring pump/fan blocked

What it means

F07894 is raised by the load monitoring when it is configured for a pump or a fan (p2193 = 4 or 5) and its monitoring function detects that the pump or fan is blocked. The drive stops the motor, and the fault must be acknowledged before the drive can be started again. The manuals for the affected families describe the fault with the same cause and remedy.

Why it appears

  • The load monitoring is set up for a pump or fan (p2193 = 4 or 5), and the monitoring function has detected that the pump or fan is blocked.
  • The blocking torque threshold p2168 may be set too low — for example during heavy duty starting — so that the monitoring judges the drive as blocked.

What to check

  1. Check whether the pump or fan is actually blocked; if it is, resolve the blockage.
  2. Check that the fan can move freely, and if necessary resolve the problem.
  3. Adapt the parameterization to the actual load: the stall monitoring thresholds p2165 and p2168.

Parameters the manual names

  • p2193 — Load monitoring configuration: this is where the pump/fan monitoring is selected; the settings 4 and 5 enable the pump/fan monitoring that issues this fault.
  • p2168 — Load monitoring stall monitoring torque threshold: the blocking torque threshold. If it is set too low, for example with heavy duty starting, adapt it to the load.
  • p2165 — Load monitoring stall monitoring upper threshold: adjust it together with p2168 so that the monitoring matches the connected load.

Acknowledging and restarting

Remove the cause first: free the blocked pump or fan, or adapt p2165 and p2168 to the load. The fault is then acknowledged — the manual requires this to happen immediately — after which the drive can be switched on again.

What differs between the drive families

Questions technicians ask

What does fault F07894 mean?

It means the load monitoring, configured for a pump or fan (p2193 = 4 or 5), has detected that the pump or fan is blocked.

Why does F07894 trip during starting although nothing is jammed?

The blocking torque threshold p2168 can be set too low, for example with heavy duty starting, so the monitoring reacts as if the pump/fan were blocked.

How do I clear fault F07894?

Check whether the pump/fan is blocked and resolve the blockage, make sure the fan can move freely, then adapt p2165 and p2168 to the load and acknowledge the fault immediately.

Which parameters belong to F07894?

p2193 selects the pump/fan monitoring, and p2165 and p2168 are the stall monitoring thresholds to adapt to the actual load.
